I'm afraid I'm too frightened to share my kazoo solos that debuted one late night on CBS.

There must be more CS! members with their secretive productions. There must be! I'm personally of the belief that @nilade and donny have the voices of angels. And scottysair...well, it goes without saying.

I might have some old singing recordings somewhere...but it's not original. Plus I'm shy.

I'm shy too. Until I'm wasted, then I post my terrible singing onto public forums.
I find the older I get, the less of a shit I give about people's opinions of me. It's a pleasant feeling.

I like it. Does soundcloud have download links I'm missing?
I might create a page on there to upload my decade old stuff.

You have the option to make your tracks downloadable. I haven't because...well, who'd want to? Although I actually have a couple of Gorillaz and Libertines remixes that are almost a decade old that have had a few hundred hits. People keep asking me to make them downloadable, I'm like...fuck you! I want more hits. soundcloud.com/deexan/the-libertines-the-good-old^ Top remix on YouTube, which I'm quite proud of. It's so simple though. soundcloud.com/deexan/gorillaz-dare-dxn-remix

More hits is a good point. I especially like Electronic Friends.

Thank you.
Again, it's just really old stuff and I've since moved on to writing instead of music because it feels like that's a more realistic career. The copywriting that I'm doing at the moment for movie/TV/video game trailers at least pays me a decent wage.
The kind of music I make is so niche that making a career out of it is essentially impossible.

Okie dokie. Here is some of mine, speaking of old stuff: soundcloud.com/jcadageI have a lot of old recordings, but these were the only ones I "completed". Probably because when I use to play live, I felt silly not having anything to give people when they asked. That's a bit of advice for aspiring performers. Have recordings BEFORE you start playing shows.

There are some nice melodies in there, I can't help but feel that with some professional production that could have easily found an audience.
What instrument did you play?
I like 'Heart of Slate' in particular.
And 'Tried Beliefs' reminds me of my favourite instrumental ever, which I think you'll appreciate as a musician. It's one of the best pieces of music full stop, to me:

03:56 onwards...incredible.
If you name your band The Music, then you'd better make music as good as that.

I like 'Heart of Slate' in particular. Which one is Heart of Slate? In the tracks I played acoustic (classical and steel variations in each of the recordings), while two of my friends supplied the bass, lead and drums. It's interesting how different the songs became. I start writing all my music on acoustic alone, and once a song is finished, I will then start adding/writing the additional instrument parts. The end product winds up being something quite different from where it starts. That track was really good. Right up my alley. I'm very eclectic when it comes to music, though. What I'm able to write/record is another story.

Black Emperor...though you've probably heard of them already. I missed them in London a couple of months ago, it killed me. A killer 8 minute build...most people I know can't even make it past 1 minute without something happening.

Now this is getting into a territory of some of my favorite music, and this is a good example of music not finding a bigger audience. In fact, this is one of my favorite albums of all time, and the only reason I discovered his stuff was because we played a couple of the same shows in Cincinnati and Dayton.
His name is Peter Adams and his stuff is professional grade. That is sometimes not enough, though. It's a shame when it happens, but there are hundreds, if not thousands, of really talented artists out there that get lost in the mix.
From the album "The Spiral Eyes":

I can totally see parallels between your music and his.
You're completely right about artists getting lost in the swell, though. Especially now, when anybody can make music in their bedroom to a quality standard. There must be so many acts out there that I would absolutely love to listen to that I'll never find the right channel to access.
Speaking of which, I was sticking flyers on lampposts for a nightclub in 2002 in the early hours with my friend in my home town. We were listening to BBC Radio 2, which only ever plays middle of the road, inoffensive music, really. It must have relaxed us as we drove around..
Anyway, just as he was taking me home to drop me off a song came on called 'God Said No' by Dan Bern. We both listened to it in silence and it ended as we got to my house. We both looked at each other and said words to the effect of "that was a fair tune..."
We downloaded it in the morning and to this day I think it has the best lyrics ever written. Ever.
Turns out he's this ridiculously prolific songwriter with hundreds of songs to his name. He's not religious I don't think...he wrote a song called 'Aliens Came and Fucked a Monkey', yet the lyrics to God Says No just resonate, whether you're a believer or not.
He does live shows pretty much every night of the year around America but he never plays the UK! He's on my bucket list.
The basic jist is a guy speaking to god and asking him to send him back in time to right multiple wrongs:

Not sure. He released an album in 2013, but hasn't had much in the way of updates for a year or so.

I sing and play guitar but I don't like the sound of my own voice played back so I never recorded anything. Maybe I'll see what develops

Oh I've been playing off and on since I was 13 I still have my original guitar after 40 years. lol I used to serenade all the girls until my guitar became older than the girls I was serenading I have jammed with lots of other people (including a couple studio musicians and someone who toured with the Monkees) but never recorded myself. I'm a decent rhythm guitarist I think. I pick patterns and strum, but I've never played lead. I wrote a couple of little songs when I was a teenager, i can't remember all of them now though lol. I have a good ear - I learned Stairway to Heaven from playing the recording over and over (also Hard Luck Woman by Kiss and quite a few America and Foreigner songs). I know how to read Tab Recently I have been trying to learn basic flamenco, AND I'd love to learn how to play blues

Cool.
You should record some stuff via your PC. That's all I need for mine, that and a semi-decent USB mic.

Yeah that's something I don't have is an external mic - I should see about getting one. Wonder if my Barcus Berry can be connected to my laptop? lol I'd probably need to get another amp first huh?

Honestly, even a standard built in mic can pick up vocals if you have a program to tweak them. Probably not guitar though. My latest track, which is in need of a rapper in case anyone knows anybody ( Justin, you're down with the hippety-hop, right?): soundcloud.com/amlein/goldilocks-zone
