Yea they all conveniently avoid the fact that he called yang a Jew chink last month. And that was the entire context.
If he just apologized for real it would be over. But he clearly still thinks yang is a Jew chink and doesn't think it's wrong to say it.
That's why he got fired. I'm sure his fans will rally around him cheering for more punchlines like those and he will be just fine opening for Dennis Miller and seemingly bill burr.

He dropped the S-Bomb in the demonic cake sketch, which is funny considering he was a cast member on the infamous Charles Rocket F-Bomb episode.

Good episode. In typical SNL fashion it lost steam after Update, but Black Jeopardy and Elves were mediocre and not out right bad, so that’s a success. Solid episode.
Funny to see Larry David there since he was a writer when Eddie Murphy was last on the show. Murphy hosted SNL in December 1984, to promote Beverly Hills Cop, during the Billy Crystal & Friends season. That was the episode that featured the White Like Me sketch.

I didn't like it. Skits missed the mark and the jokes fell flat. They didn't utilize him all that well. Chalk it up as a disappointment from me, reminded me why I don't watch this show anymore.
Also Pete Davidson is absolutely awful.

This was the most I can remember laughing during an episode of SNL in a loooooong time. Also the first one I'd watched in years.

The name joke skit was the hardest I've laughed at SNL in a while. Of course the Avclub critic thought it sucked The internet, in general, didn't seem to like it. People have been overly critical of the whole episode. But props for successfully putting together a live show with a live audience in the midst of a pandemic and political turmoil. To counter that, the South Park Pandemic Special has gotten an overwhelmingly positive reaction across the board. People have been extremely critical of Tegridy Farms and Randy's new role as the series' lead character, but they all seem to agree it worked for this particular episode. SNL needs a stronger voice. Those 2016 Trump-Hilary sketches were a hit for a reason. Jim Carrey as Joe Biden wasn't quite executed properly. The facial expressions were perfect and it made me chuckle, but Carrey is missing how senile Biden is, and the writers weren't able to capture the frightening insanity of that debate. The show should have gone darker in tone. Pulled no punches. Make a statement. Carrey muting Trump and speaking directly to the audience had good intentions, but it came at the end of a 13-minute sketch that was 10-minutes too long. I would have had Carrey mute Trump 30 seconds into the sketch. And Chris Rock's monologue was off-key. He should have come out angry but strong and precise. Again, go dark. Be direct. Get the message across. |
