Meh. You gotta be smart enough to know your career path doesnt include mainstream shows like SNL when you go that route.
Either that or you have to quietly become PC and hope people don't hold you to your past jokes (e.g. Burr).

I haven't listened to the guy's podcasts but I'm hearing that it's not him making a joke about Asians that just didn't land, he went for the tired gag that the slur is the punchline. That's something that comedians learn not to do on like their second day of standup or improv. To me it's less of 'this guy's a racist' and more 'this guy doesn't know what's funny.' Also his tweet about 'being more of a madtv guy anyways' is salty and makes him sound like an asshole. |

Neither of them appear to be aware, or acknowledge, that the things he said that people are taking issue with weren't part of a bit/sketch/punchline. If they were, the conversation would be entirely different and be probably wouldn't have been bounced in the first place and this wouldn't be a thing.
Context is key, yet people seem all too eager to scream "cancel culture" when it's not that black and white (pun intended, BITCH!).
