Having just finished watching Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, my initial impression is that it's not particularly good. This movie is a sequel to last year's Justice League: War, which I found to be very entertaining. The story of Throne of Atlantis is slow and not all that interesting. Arthur Curry/Aquaman isn't as dull as the version which appeared in Super Friends, but he's not as exciting and ruthless as the one seen on the Justice League animated series. The various members of the Justice League have been shoehorned into an Aquaman origin story in which they are not truly needed, and the writers were at a loss for giving them something to do. To make matters worse, most of the origin story is conveyed in flashbacks and exposition in which there are no fun action scenes taking place.

While most of the movie isn't all that interesting, the plot at least makes sense until the finale arrives. Then, logic and reason take a vacation. Ocean Master summons a massive tsunami to destroy the east coast of the US as the opening attack for the invasion by his Atlantean troops. At the last instant before the unstoppable tidal wave destroys everything in it's path and wins the battle, it instead dissipates to reveal the Atlantean forces who have arrived at Metropolis. On the land, the US Army has assembled a large ground force of soldiers and tanks for no readily apparent reason, as the surface had no idea of the existence of Atlantis, much less an imminent invasion by them.
Once Aquaman defeats Ocean Master, credits roll until the post-credits scene. In this, we see Ocean Master in custody at Belle Reve Prison, whenNick Fury Lex Luthor arrives to talk to him about the Avengers Initiative Legion of Doom.
