I like to think I have a large variety of friends and family and with each election I knew of people voting for just about everyone. Obama, Clinton, Romney, Nader, there was always someone who would throw their weight behind a candidate. I don't know one person who is a Trump supporter. I don't know anyone who isn't sickened by him which begs the question; who are these people who have kept him at the front of the pack? I want names.

There was another on Facebook that was better but I couldn't find it. The side by side comparison on that one is even more concise and eye opening.

It's people who think all Muslims are terrorists, and those who think Mexicans are stealing jobs and taking their welfare money. It's fear mongering . People who think the government has failed them, and they want someone else they believe will take back their country before there is a second Civil War. They act like Chicken Little because the sky is falling, and sound like doomsday preppers .

Comparing Trump to Hitler is a little extreme. One is an asshole that killed thousands of people the other is just a complete asshole. Carter actually did ban importation of Iranian immigrants during the Hostage Crisis.

I think the comparison to Hitler is appropriate - both used fear mongering for votes

If think I just heard that the governor of Connecticut is pushing for a bill that would ban people on the no-fly list from having guns.
Although the no-fly list has had some errors of misidentification, I think that may be a smart measure. You might miss a flight if you are misidentified, but you should be carrying enough ID if you are traveling to identify yourself. If you can' behave on an airplane, I don't think you should be packing.
Also in the news - time for more security details to be integrated in official passports. Word is terrorists have a machine to print official looking passports. The government already makes it as difficult as possible to counterfeit bills so it's time to up the ante on passport production.

It's not even about how you act on an aircraft. It was part of the terrorist watch list after 9/11. The Terrorist Screening Center created it and maintains it. Let's say John Doe is on the no-fly list due to being a possible terrorist threat. Another individual with the same name or very similar purchases a ticket, they are flagged until they can prove they aren't the John Doe that is on the list.

I know, I said as much in my post, but you ought to be able to identify yourself and get it cleared up. Shouldn't be a problem for most people.

It shouldn't, but it won't stop the problem. Plus when you have individuals in charge of DHS who decide that a group like ICP/Juggalos could be a potential terrorist threat or even a veteran organization. That isn't somebody I want deciding who should and shouldn't be on the no-fly list either.

That isn't somebody I want deciding who should and shouldn't be on the no-fly list either. They didn't, that was the FBI and they were accusing them of being a gang, not a terrorist organization.

A recent national poll states that 30% of Republicans, and 19% of Democrats would favor the bombing of Agrabah. The most enthusiastic group being Trump supporters at 41%, while backers of Clinton came in at 13%.

Feel free to tear me apart, but what about tackling gun crime this way:
Dispose of all guns in all towns with a population of <1000.
Sounds easy enough, right?
Then, move on to towns with <2500 inhabitants.
Then <5000.
Then <10,000.
And keep working your way up and learning from the experiences of each level of township being de-armed.
We will eventually get to <5,000,000.
It will take years, but it is feasible.

It's the people in the big cities who have to deal with gang wars and whatnot who are the biggest gun control advocates. The people who live out in the backwaters are usually the ones least in favor of it, allegedly because they don't have big police forces to protect them from all the violent meth heads surrounding them. If anything it would be the exact opposite that would bring gun control to the country.
