The military shouldn't be turning anyone away who is willing to die for their country. This ban is stupid and awful.

And apparently no one knew about it but him. (And Pence, or whoever whispered it in his ear)

There are a lot of people in the media, and social media, who owe John McCain an apology today. I don't expect it to come.

The ban is a product of delusion, like everything else Trump. He didn't even talk it over with the military as he claimed in his tweet. A tweet is also not the proper place to announce major policy change - not thatTrump ever goes through proper channels.
His reasoning is flawed. He said it was in the interest of making things move to victory without disruption or distraction. Thousands of Trans people are serving smoothly and with distinction at all areas of the military. Pulling them out of service would be a huge disruption
He also said Trans people cost too much in medical coverage with their hormone treatments and gender reassignment procedures. Well if your looking to cut medical expenses stop treating soldiers for erectile dysfunction and giving them Viagra. The cost for those things are at least three to four times more costly.
I think Trump may have read some wing nut propaganda that said the cost of Trans people in the service would endanger funds for his precious Mexican wall.
==== How about Mini Me? Scaramucci is a piece of work huh?
He got mad because someone leaked his financial disclosure, and that's a felony ...or so he said, but that disclosure is actually available to the pub!ic.
He called up The New Yorker to try to get them to tell him the name of their confidential source, because it was of national security and the safety of our nation (the public disclosure of his finances)
Then he went off the rails and gave a profanity laced rant to the reporter on the phone, dropping the F-Bomb 6 times and saying that Bannon sucks his own cock. He said cock 3 times by the way.
The New York Times is going to publish his rant in its entirety today. The new Communications Director didn't realize whatever he said to the reporter on the phone was on the record.
Scaramucci isn't even on the payroll yet. He's planning to sell his company to a Chinese business for Billions, and until that happens , he can't work at the Whitehouse. He's been on a visitor's pass so far.
BUT, in order for that sale to go through, it has to pass examination by a Treasury Commission - many members of which he's already managed to disparage publicly.
Asshat of the year tied with Trump, I'd say. The West Wing is looking like The Lord of the Flies, huh!
=========
The leader of the Boy Scouts apologized for subjecting the scouts for Trump's political rant in front of the scout jamboree. Trump should apologize as well, because he should have given an inspirational speech for them and not glorify himself - megalomaniac!

I'll agree to an extent, but there was also a strong element of people overreacting to preliminary parliamentary procedure to simply allow discussion/debate. Not to mention those who were gleefully wishing death upon him or using the opportunity to trash his service record as self serving or his divorce of his first wife. Or alternatively, I should just not read too far into comments on these stories, or any of the actual articles from any "new media". There's always gonna be shitty people on the internet with shitty takes.

Thanks is extended to all three Republican no votes for their courage in the face of brow beating to recognize that these bills and proceedings were a pile of crap.
Oh, by the way the Trump Administration also went to the unusual tactic of threatening public funds and considerations if the Senators from Alaska and Maine voted once again against repeal and replace.
Threatening the citizens how low is that?

CORRECTION I said that Scaramucci called The New Yorker because of his financial records being public.
Nope! He was upset that the magazine had printed the fact that Scaramucci and Trump had dinner with Fox's Sean Hannity. That's what was a matter of national security lol

Prebus out, General Kelly in. Probably won't make a difference in the level of chaos in fight club...er, the west wing. Should they put a revolving door on the Whitehouse yet? List. Of People Fired or Resigned Trump spoke to a group of police about the gang violence with machetes recently, and made a statement encouraging police brutality against suspects. A real president would never do that

The only president I know of that had both houses and couldn't get anything passed was Jimmy Carter. Putting his post-presidency aside, he's generally considered one of the worst by historians due to his ineffectiveness.
Now add the demogoguery. Is there really any question that Trump will be considered the worst in the future?

Is there really any question that Trump will be considered the worst in the future? It depends on what the ultimate results are. Most historians consider the worst US President to be James Buchanan, whose failure to resolve the increasingly dangerous tension throughout the US regarding slavery, and public statements that while the south had no legal right to secede, the federal government had no legal authority to prevent them from doing so, as well as other dangerously inciting statements brought about the US Civil War.

Oh sure, I'm aware of the shifting metrics but there have been a few consistently near the bottom, Buchanan usually being the worst as you point out. Eisenhower was considered near the middle or bottom for a while until The Hidden Hand Presidency came out (it's a great book if you're into that kind of stuff).

Buchanan was awful but at the end of the day the Civil War was probably inevitable. Andrew Johnson on the other hand royally fucked up reconstruction in ways that we're still trying to fix today. If not for that guy the country would be very different today.

I'm sure Trump will wind up near the bottom of the list of US Presidents. I'd prefer it if Trump ultimately winds up being notable as a bad President for how ineffectual and damaging to democratic institutions he was. I see that as a best case scenario. I shutter to think about the worst case.

Which means that in the end he unintentionally sped up the abolition of slavery and ensured that Lincoln would be in charge when the war happened. His incompetence somehow worked out in the end.

Unless Trump and/or Sessions and/or Pence steps on civil rights.
============
Can you believe the number of off the cuff threats Trump is tossing out in his latest temper tantrums?
I mean, State funds for Alaska, and funds that subsidize insurance through the ACA? These are threats against the citizens of the USA... And pretty directly!! I mean the ACA funding is Law...so he wants to essentially break the law.
That sonofabitch is nothing more than a two bit thug.

Looks like "The Mooch" is already out. Apparently someone convinced Trump not to have someone who looks and sounds like a Long Island con man from a bad 80s movie representing him to the public.

This is madness. At the very least, it seems pretty clear that Chief of Staff John Kelly is calling the shots. There's no way a career military man like Kelly would be able to put up with a lunatic like Scaramucci. Now the question becomes, can Kelly manage to reign in Trump?

I, for one, believe that modern political discourse would be much much improved if there were more allegations of autofellatio.

From what I've heard, this is literally true. Mooch's first official day of work wasn't scheduled to begin until some time in August.
