Got it. So then the conversation evolves into should we license and insure illegal aliens, or follow the law by deporting them back to their country.
That is a sticky situation. This might be going to a total extreme, but I don't see the value in rewarding everyone who makes it onto American soil with a "congratulations - you made it here, here's your automatic citizenship" card. I also don't know if I see merit in using tax payer dollars to employ, staff, manage, and pay workforce hours to the licensing (and countless other paperwork opportunities) of non-citizens. I'm not sure our amenities beyond the basic civil liberties should be extended to non-residents, and I don't think someone simply pitching a tent and declaring they live here really constitutes residency.
What I am actually much much more concerned about, though, is business owner abuse of undocumented workers. Not having to declare employees, pay fair wages, pay out insurance, etc. Our American labor force is entitled to certain rights and privileges that should be afforded to all. Having employees that work for you off the books only leaves room for abuse, or for potential for abuse. You might be the one guy who pays fairly and takes care of those employees, but I am cynical enough to doubt that is the case 99 times out of 100. Legal immigration doesn't just protect the country, it protects said immigrants and gives them full access to the protections and privileges of living here. It's a win-win.

Legal immigration doesn't just protect the country, it protects said immigrants and gives them full access to the protections and privileges of living here. It's a win-win. I can pretty much guarantee that it's cheaper to pay for a couple of extra people at the DMV than it is build an entire police force and possibly a wall. Illegal immigration is a necessary evil in modern society. If you want to continue eating low priced food and eat at restaurants for reasonable prices you need to accept that you benefit from it and most study suggest that illegal immigration is a net economic positive for pretty much any American with a high school degree and the price of a few extra DMV workers is pretty small to pay. Now, no one is saying that everyone who crosses the border should get an automatic citizenship card, that's a goofy strawman. There is certainly also potential for abuse amongst the workers, which is why we need to institute a guest worker program with reasonable protections and some hope of future citizenship if they want it (which a lot of migrant farmers tend not to). Until there's the political will to make that happen though I certainly see no point in spending resources rounding immigrants up any more than I want the police to exert massive resources into enforcing laws about jaywalking, marijuana use, and internet piracy.

Those are all fine points. I'm only sharing my opinions, but I'm always open to new ideas I haven't thought of before. I appreciate the response.

The latest idiocy to come out of Trump's twitter is blowing up in his face. It appears as though he "found out" about this not from an intelligence briefing, but from a Breitbart "news" article. Naturally, he's presenting no evidence to support this statement. James Clapper, the Director of Intelligence at the time this supposedly occurred denies any validity to the claim. Trump just can't resist the urge to make himself look like a bloody fool. I wish Obama would sue the dumbass for slander, but he probably won't.

Obama didn't do anything. The FBI was investigating the Trump campaign because money was exchanged with a Russian bank. This was reported months ago by the BBC. Trump is deflecting because all the Russian nonsense is blowing up in his face.

The fact that the tweet ends with "This is McCarthyism!" is textbook irony. I suspect Drumpf doesn't actually know what McCarthyism is. Probably believes it to be behind the scenes conspiracies or something, instead of making baseless public accusations about subverting the government.

Travel ban 2.0 has been released. Instead of banning Muslims with Visa's, he's banning Muslims from getting Visa's. And he reduced the number of refugees allowed to enter.

Well he's gotta do something to buy himself time to ready all the "evidence" he has about Obama's wire taps.

Damn. Even Canadians are getting denied at the border. Some lady just wanted to go a spa and they told her she needed a visa. Watch. The next time Doomsday and SnoBorderZero go to Mexico to get drunk they won't let them back into the U.S.

According to CNN, Obama is, understandably, "livid" about Trump's bullshit allegations that he wiretapped him. Trump, the champion against "fake news", sure seems to be the one constantly spreading just that.

I thought we were done with Michael Flynn, apparently not. Turns out, he works for the Turkish government. So does that make him... a triple agent?

I'd like to know the original context of those screenshots.
They seem awfully cherry-picked to elicit rage.
