I don't love a former prosecutor being tapped in an election that will focus on larger and hopefully different and not just pandering ideas about policing. I get we need reasonable idiots to vote for us too (those who voted trump last time but are more centrist than Trump's far right coalition) but these penny smart dollar stupid choices bum me right the fuck out. Any chance at progressive ideas in my meaningful lifetime are essentially destroyed. We would need trump to stomp to a win again and realize that new ideas are what win elections. Also, way to go in picking someone from a reliably blue state instead of grabbing someone who could swing another area of the country. I dunno, this might not be the sure fire pick that Democrats had hoped for.

VP effect on much of anything else is generally over-rated anyway... as long as they aren't an idiot like Sarah Palin who has a bad effect.

We’re basically choosing Kamala Harris to be President.

Called it. I don't quite understand what the left's problem is with her. Cause she was a tough-on-crime Attorney General? Oh got it. God they cant see the forest through the trees sometimes.

Yeah, and I dont think that politicians on the Dem side are unable to change and see the moment. I just think Trump is too cosy to have around a second time, and accelerationism is a nice theory but theres a chance it would lead us to a full on dictatorship with this guy.

His doctor has given him a clean bill of health, and if he was some quack like Trump's doctor in 2016, Faux news would have made a thing of it.

I think the Dems would use the 25th amendment, follow through where Tillerson and Mattis failed with Trump.

He's been making verbal gaffes his entire political career. At this point, I'll vote for Biden no matter who he picks as VP. Any one of the picks on his list of possible VPs is better than Trump.

Anyone with vote by mail concerned about Trump's guts to the USPS?
I'm in a blue state, but I'm now wondering now if it's best for a healthy person to mail in weeks early, or go to the polls.

I just voted by mail for the first time for a local election. They've taken away any restrictions we previously had for vote-by-mail, making it easier for anyone to do so. Its probably only temporary. I am a little concerned, but I don't know if I'll feel that safe vote in the general election. Those are always more crowded anyway, and I live in a deeply red state, so who knows what the mask/distancing situation will be like.

I'm voting in person. Not risking it.
I'll lock myself down for two weeks afterwards but I don't trust the gop.

I think you can drop it off directly at the election board, and we do have early voting. We can check the status of our ballot online to see if its been received yet. I can't see why it would take that long, realistically.

Senate goes on vacation without passing a new stimulus bill. This is Bush goes on vacation during Katrina all over again. Where’s Kanye when you need him? Oh —
