Wow, OK AG Jeff Sessions is testifying today, I think in the afternoon/early evening, maybe 6pm eastern. Trump is supposedly thinking about firing special counsel Muller. That would be the worst thing he could do right now... Well, almost. He should just let the investigations finish, and forget messing around with them. His actions seem to point to his hiding something, and further actions would pretty much seal his fate. Even the Republicans should be wary of supporting this madness any further. Even if he fires Muller Congress might even take matters into their own hands and hire Muller back to finish He thinks he's so fucking smart by fooling around with waiting for weeks to say he's behind article 5 of the NATO agreement, and now he's dragging out this tape thing by not giving a clear yes or no. He's must making himself look more untrustworthy to everyone. Oh, did you all see the latest "cabinet meeting "? www.cnn.com/2017/06/12/politics/donald-trump-cabinet-meeting/index.htmlHe needs Yesmen to reinf!ate his voluminous ego. His cabinet members don't want to get screamed at, so they placate him. Such bullshit! This needs to stop

There's no claim of equivalency.
Not that I find the image very deep or interesting.

Dracula's claim of false equivalency is justified. While it is certainly true that the graphic doesn't explicitly state that it's trying to demonstrate that both sides are the same, it's so obviously implied that it might as well have. I've no doubt that there are many who feel that both sides are about the same, but most of those who do gave up on politics of any kind a long time ago, and don't really care all that much.

Not the same, but honestly the left in this country nowadays has a severe case of the boy who cried wolf on its hands.
It's especially true of new media, but spending years calling people on the opposing side racist or facist out of pure hyperbole kind of dampens the impact when you get someone truly terrifying like Trump.

Now Trump's under investigation.
The FBI started to actively look at Trump two days after he fired Comey. Now they are looking at collusion, but really they are about to follow the money. Flynn and Manafort seem to be in big trouble, closely followed by Page, and Lautner.
Gambling and real estate are two of the easiest businesses to launder money in because there's so much paperwork to wade through and its harder to detect - but not impossible!
Trump has settled out of court around four times for laundering in his long litigious history.
In other developments, do you remember weeks and weeks ago when VP Pence started up a PAC (political action committee)??
He's more than likely not going to run for President in 2020.
Did you know that besides funding a run to win a political election, a PAC can also be used to pay for a lawyer???
Like the high powered attorney Pence just hired to defend himself in all the investigations going on.
Hmmm... Learn something new everyday, huh?

Even Trump's lawyer lawyered up.
Regardless of the outcome, the next act will be very entertaining. I'm willing to bet that when they televise Trump testifying under oath, it will be as big, if not bigger, than the last super bowl.

Biglier. Oh, Trump found an outside high powered attorney finally. So his personal business lawyer doesn't have to try to defend him anymore. It seems now everyone is lawyering up. I guess they got smart and didn't take Trump's lawyer's advice that they didn't need one (the jerk doesn't even represent anyone other than Trump).
'Now I'm being investigated for firing Comey by the man who told me to fire Comey. Witch hunt' - RealDonaldTrump
He went on another Twitter storm yesterday, ranting about Clinton and other things. But, with that tweet quoted above, he's admitting he is under investigation, and seemingly trying to set Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein up for firing.
Trump can't fire Special Counsel Muller and Rosenstein won't fire him, so Trump's planning to fire Rosenstein. That would put Associate Attorney General Rachel Brand in the hot seat unless Trump has someone else in mind who he can put in the second position who will fire Muller.
That scenario is eerily similar to what started the impeachment process threat to Nixon. Nixon fired the Special Prosecutor, and the Attorney General and Deputy Attorney General resigned in protest.
If Trump does this, it could be his last shot in the foot he takes.
In any case Rosenstein is potentially a subject of the investigation due to his involvement in the firing of Comey, so he might recuse himself anyway. This again would put Brand in the hot seat.

Loads of time for Trump to repeatedly shoot himself in the foot. Lol yeah. That's all it took for Nixon though. I think etiquette says you should approach the president first and give him the opportunity to convince you not to do it, or a chance to resign - but I don't see Trump doing either. By the way, I doubt if he's going to read my tweet, because he gets thousands, but I thought I'd make an attempt to prey upon his paranoia with this tweet

@realdonaldtrump Mike Pence is plotting against you! His new lawyer is a close friend of James Comey! Pence wants your job! Pence's lawyer is the godfather of Comey's daughter.

I'm not sure if Trump would be willing to resign or not. He loves to bluster about how he never gives in, but that's all talk. If you look at his history, if he can't bully people into letting him get away with his BS, he gives in and settles more often than not. I'm just hoping the mid-term elections go well. My fellow Americans have demonstrated quite clearly that they are more than capable of ignoring all logic and reason at the ballot box, already. They're perfectly capable of doing so again. I'm surrounded by redneck morons who still love Trump. Many of the ones who don't think it's a shame that they couldn't have had Ted Cruz instead. People are morons.

I have little faith in the midterm election. Right-wing defends Trump and left-wing too busy being annoying to prioritize.

Dems still haven't coalesced around any sort of real message aside from being negative about the current administration. Someone needs to step up to be the new fresh face. If they trot out Biden or Warren for the 20 election it will not work.
Need a new face and new ideas for the platform.

Calling people 'Hitler' won't work either. As crazy as it sounds most people don't like being called Hitler and Democrats aren't going to get those people in the middle to vote with them if they keep doing it no matter how many times they try. I'm not sure how many more elections Democrats need to lose before they figure it out.

Trump is supported by literal Nazis, has done almost nothing to distance himself from the Richard Spencers of the world, and follows every step out of the handbook of demagoguery. Are we just supposed to pretend we don't see these parallels when they exist?

When the use of Hilter/Nazis is so overused that it inspires the invention of the first internet adage (Godwin's Law), it's time to seek examples elsewhere.

The reason we study history is to learn from it and prevent it from being repeated. World War 2 is one of the greatest lessons of all and to ignore those lessons is to put yourself in danger. The phrase "never again" exists for a reason.

Stalin was far from being a populist outsider and didn't rise to power by stoking people's prejudices to get himself elected, he gained power through internal party machinations after having been among the victors of a violent revolution. The parallels aren't really there.
