70. Monsters UniversityBecause I always wanted to see Animal House as a G-rated family comedy. This movie is mostly fine, but deeply unmemorable. I like the part where they play Mastodon.

Mastodon even improved a Transformers movie.
Granted it's a ZZ Top cover, but it's still great.

69. Tarzan (Disney)It has some cool animation and functional story structure, but the characters are boring and there's a lot of blandness. We can complain about Disney's run of movies in the early 2000s but I do think the Renaissance formula needed a shake up.

68. Robin Hood (Disney)It has its charms, but the film is also meandering and just sort of fizzles out. I can see why those who grew up with Robin Hood might still look at it fondly, but as someone who saw it for the first time at 25, the appeal is limited.

67. The Secret World of Arriety (Ghibli)The stretch where the mother finds herself imprisoned is genuinely gripping, but the rest of Arriety is a bit dull. The film sets a nice tone but it's all a bit empty.

66. Alice in WonderlandIt's neat to see Disney experiment with this kind of more surreal story but I don't think they were especially comfortable doing so. Some neat visuals though.

My much-older cousin had this on VHS and it was the only thing I could watch when getting babysat. That and 80’s Scrappy Doo on TV. PG Cooper doesn’t know life with only 9 channels and a VCR.

Your TV wasnt authentic unless you had broken that knob to switch channels.
I went to my parents last weekend to borrow some tools and actually recognized the old TV pliers.

You think we were cave people? I got a remote on the first digital models, but we definitely had an old knob and ears my parents kept for way too long. Wood panelling and everything.

65. The Black Cauldron (Disney)I wish this movie was a lot cooler. The notion of Disney doing a darker fantasy epic is enticing and elements of the film are pretty stylish, but the characters are hopelessly bland as is the story on the whole. Shame.

John Hurt is pretty dope as the villain in it, though.

64. Treasure Planet (Disney)Holds the reputation of being Disney animation's biggest financial failure which really isn't deserved. Though the movie is full of really lame elements the basic aesthetic is fun and the hero-villain dynamic stands out in Disney canon.

63. The Fox and the Hound (Disney)The film isn't especially exciting and makes some pretty weak compromises, but the story is perfectly functional and I suppose it has its moments.
