Yeah, Spader was a great choice. I've never liked him much, but his voice is perfect for this.

James Spader is gonna own this film. Yeah, Spader was a great choice. I've never liked him much, but his voice is perfect for this. There's no doubt that James Spader will be the highlight of the movie. Well, that and The Hulk.

Wonder why Thor is Mad At Iron Man. I mean his people are the ones who kinda forced Shield and Stark to try and defend the planet. Asguardians treasure vault is the Blame. Sure Stark made a mistake but he is Human and well Thor ignores his kinds effects on this world.

After GIFing the hell out of this trailer I am half convinced that most of the scenes in that trailer were dreams/hallucinations....and I want to back that up with examples buuuuuttt I haven't figured out spoiler/blackout tags yet. The final shot of the broken shield had me really thinking. Especially in combination with what we heard at comic con. What we know: the hand next to the shield is Thor. Tony is the one looking down at the team lying unconscious on the crumbled ground in horror.
Part of me thinks this is a hallucination (maybe induced by Wanda? Maybe by Vision?) because it goes one of three ways: 1. Tony saves the day on his own while the team is unconscious or dead...this will not go over well. 2. Everyone is actually dead...in which case uhhh no 3. It's not real.
The shield might still be broken at some point though, leading to Wakanda and a Blank Panther movie. Girl can dream.
Also, we know hallucinations/dreams are likely on the table in this movie due to the scene of Cap in some 1940's bar with his old uniform. There was rumours ages ago that we were getting this scene and that Hayley Atwell is making a cameo. This is likely the Vision's doing since Paul Bettany was mentioned in those rumours. I think this trailer is messing with us. And yes, James Spader is going to own this movie.

I don't understand why you're confused. The movie is obviously about Tony Stark creating Ultron, it goes haywire and destroys a major city, so the government will be like, "yeah... we gotta keep these superheroes under control" and that'll lead to Civil War in Captain America 3.

So many things to talk about with the Teaser. A lot has been mentioned, but I'm still in awe of what they have showed. I'll just do some basic bullet points since my mind is really racing of possibilities.
- When Joss Whedon said this will be a dark sequel he wasn't kidding, This is the Empire Strikes Back of the series.
- Love the nod at "Pinocchio" with "I have no strings on me" line from Spader as Ultron. Whedon seems to be using Disney's references, and what a doozy to turn that on it's head. Goosebumps!
- Hulkbuster vs Hulk *dang still blown away! I wonder if that's Stark in there or is it Ultron controlling Hulkbuster and Hulk trying to stop it.
- Cap's shield is broken reference to "Civil War?"
- Not sold on Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. But we also haven't seen a lot of them... So I guess well wait and see.
- No Vision??? Makes me sad :/
- I feel someone important is going to die at the end here Hawkeye? Black Widow? Nick Fury? or maybe the top 4 Heroes??? Never know with Whedon...

Well the problemwith all these advance movie announcements is you get built in plot armor around certain characters and it takes some of that suspense away. It also narrows the pool and pares down the level of shock.
That said......holy. god. \o/

I agree that some of this is probably hallucinations, the way they kept showing scenes like Hawkeye in the woods and the ballarinas for Black Widow. Drawing stuff from their pasts maybe?

Looks like a billion dollars but I'm not sure lightning will strike twice. Feels like this one will be more of a stepping stone to the real big bad in Avengers 3.

All these Marvel movies tie into each other. I don't think there has been a simple beginning, middle or end for any of these movies since the original Iron Man in 2008.

When people used to express concern for the Disnification of Marvel after the merger, I don't think anyone predicted this as the outcome. Instead of Marvel characters being made soft and cuddly, classic Disney themes are being used by a killer robot determined to destroy humanity. I suspect Walt would not approve, but I certainly do!

I don't think Walt would have any issues with it. He had a good sense of humor.

I don't think Walt would have any issues with it. He had a good sense of humor. That's probably true. He died long before I was born, so I'm generally accustomed to thinking of Disney as a company who likes to sue everyone from Howard the Duck to Deadmau5. That probably didn't start until later.

I've given into avoiding most news all together. I don't need to be sold on the product, I'll see it regardless, and I'd like what little that remains a mystery to me to be surprise in the theater. It's the biggest issue I'm have with the Star Wars film. It's like why don't you just post the shooting script up there while you're at it. -_-

Looked great, but I guess I'm alone in thinking that he didn't sound very robotic. Pretty emotional for a robot.

I am also guessing we wont get the final look we all know to ultron till he is full evil. But wonder if they are ditching the Ant Look to a somewhat and Iron Man suit look. Personally Id rather they not make Stark the fall guy for Ultron and Kept it Ant Man being responsible.

Looked great, but I guess I'm alone in thinking that he didn't sound very robotic. Pretty emotional for a robot. Jarvis doesn't sound like a robot, either. As for being emotional, that's how Ultron is supposed to be. He's an adamantium Oedipus complex in the comics. He hates his creator (Ant-Man), and loves the woman his creator loves (Wasp). Without that, Ultron is just another generic killer robot in a long line of generic killer robots.

In this version, the creator is Tony Stark and I'm guessing the woman will be Pepper Potts.

Finally got to see the teaser trailer last night while waiting for my laundry to get done. I'm stoked and even squeed a little. Spader won me over with just those few lines. Can't wait for this movie.
