Principal photography occurred during the pandemic. These actors had nothing else to do except sing John Lennon’s Imagine on social media. But then, the film infamously went through reshoots directed by Tim Miller (Deadpool). Eli Roth (yes, him) was the original director and is still credited as the director. Craig Mazin (Chernobyl, Last of Us), however, requested that his name be removed as screenwriter. Roth is getting scriptwriting credit, although I’m unsure of how much he actually wrote. Rewrites for Tim Miller’s reshoots are credited to Zak Olkewicz (Bullet Train). The movie looks like a Guardians of the Galaxy knockoff… but having the Bullet Train guy do rewrites does appear apparent too. I’ll check it out. It seems interesting. It’s an August release and feels like one.
