Man, the comments have been brutal. So many goddamn haters. I see Doomsday gonna be busy all day, fighting all the nerds online. You got this, Doomsday. I believe in you.

Man, the comments have been brutal. I wonder if this announcement is meant to help Lucasfilm bounce back after the less than enthusiastic response to the recent Rey movie news.

Doesn’t look like it helped. LucasFilm is in a bad spot. They shit the bed with J.J. Wars, Willow and Indiana Jones. There’s nothing left, unless they make a Howard the Duck movie. Gotta roll the dice with Baby Yoda.

I'll be surprised. No wonder what you saw! I'll believe it when I see it!

Lucasfilm needs to take a step back and figure out what truly has and has not worked since 1977 in every aspect of Star Wars media. Figure out what projects were successful because they were genuinely good, what succeeded based purely on hype, nostalgia, or sheer momentum. Figure out why projects failed as well. Were they inherently flawed from the start, and therefore doomed? Were they a good idea that was simply executed poorly? I've never seen any indication that a study like this has been done. Considering some of the things Kathleen Kennedy has said in the past, it's clear that the head of Lucasfilm is unaware of the very existence of most of the Star Wars media that's been created since 1977 beyond the feature length motion pictures.

In the meantime, rumors that the Rey movie is indefinitely delayed or cancelled completely. More Star Wars wins!

Part of me is wondering how Kathleen Kennedy is still the President of Lucasfilm with this rotating door of movie announcements and cancellations. And then the other part of me goes, "Who the fuck else even wants the job at this point?"

And then the other part of me goes, "Who the fuck else even wants the job at this point?" I suspect she has an ironclad contract that makes it nigh impossible to simply get rid of her. Even so, ironclad contracts can often be worked around (see Ike Perlmutter's weird position at Marvel/Disney), but then you do indeed have to find someone ready, willing and able to take her place. I suspect you're right that much of Hollywood doesn't want to touch it.

Favreau still has sway since the Mandalorian series seems to be the only live action Star Wars property worth a shit. There's definitely an effort to move as many of these as possible to the UK though.

Been out on all Star Wars D+ content.
Have to admit Ripley in an Alien suit blowing Grogu out an airlock would get me to watch
