Looking like every single big 'overall deal' that isn't producing is getting cut asap from all the content creators. Chase and duvernay for wb.
Wonder if Netflix moves on from some of its lineup of creators tied to multi year deals.

This really isn't the altruistic act they're making it look like. Basically because A24 isn't big enough to be a member of AMPTP, there's nothing preventing them from making side deals during the strike for movies they intend to distribute themselves, but once the strike ends they get to switch back to whatever the final deal is that AMPTP comes to. Essentially getting the fruits of AMPTP's strong arming without having to sacrifice as much during the strike and getting good press out of it as well. |

Also, Madam Web, slated for Valentines 2024, is now coming out before Kraven. — Ghostbusters moving from Christmas to Easter. Uncertain about the reasoning behind the religious adjacent release dates. — Spiderverse has been taken off the calendar till the strikes end. — The Karate Kid is moving from June 2024 to December 2024. — Bad Boys is slated for release on June 2024. — Venom is slated for release on July 2024. Also prior to Kraven.

Even before the strikes, I always thought the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel release date was a bit too ambitious. They only just filmed it earlier this year, and expected to do all of post within a few months? I guess it depends on just how effects-heavy it is, but still...
The Kraven move is hilarious, though. Moving it nearly a year means it's more than just an issue of actors doing publicity. At least, the way I see it.

It's pretty huge. Not sure how long it will take before it trickles over to people on my end but it remains to be seen how wide across VFX they'll spread this net. Production folks like me will benefit but vendor side artists, managers etc. might not so much.
