wouldn't this be episode 10, considering she was the latest main character of the central thread, and her creating a new jedi order seems like a natural place for the central story to go?
Oh I wish Rise of Skywalker was better so in my mind I could just have a great trilogy to end star wars will and be satisfied and ignore the rest

I'm shocked that Lucasfilm is going anywhere near the Sequel Trilogy. Ever since it ended, they've been steering clear of any Star Wars era associated with the Sequel, which was a good idea on their part.
I never had any problem with Daisy Riddley or Rey as a character. My issues with the Sequels are purely story related. It's entirely possible that new films featuring Rey can work, but they'll need to be well written and be as far removed from the events of the Sequels as possible.

Only one of them was bad. The first one was just a rewrite of the original Star Wars except not as good. The second was an unholy mess that only made sense to Rian Johnson, and the third had to waste a good portion of it's running time trying to do damage control for the second movie, and spent the rest of the time sucking all on it's own. I want to find the alternate time line where Emperor Lucas went with his original plans for Return of the Jedi, and didn't tie up the story thread on who the other Skywalker was, leaving that for Episode VII. He intended for it to be about Luke wandering the galaxy searching for his sister. Having Leia be the sister was because George decided he'd rather do Prequels instead of a sequel, so he just made Leia the sister at the last second, even though it didn't make any sense. |

If that date holds I'm surprised they're stacking it so closely to the Mandalorian movie which starts shooting next month. Granted Rey is probably based at Pinewood and Mandalorian is in Los Angeles but so much for slowing down content.
