When you look up the word auteur in the dictionary, you will no doubt see a photo of Jim Wynorski right next to it. Right from his debut feature film, Wynorski had a clear and uncompromising vision. Action. Adventure. Science Fiction. Comedy. Women’s Liberation. All that (and more) for the price of a single movie theater ticket? What a legend.
This Roger Corman produced schlockfest is about teens battling killer robots at the mall. It's a romp filled with thrills, hot babes and the dude from Deathstalker II chowing gum. Best of all, it's under 90 minutes! Take that, John Wick 4.
Monique Gabrielle, with the help of Zack Morris, battle John LaZar for control of her kingdom. The first Deathstalker is a pretty decent Conan the Barbarian knockoff, but Deathstalker II is in a league of its own. Think of Army of Darkness but with boobs. Sounds like a winner to me.
