This is one of the few Blu-ray purchases I've made this year that I haven't regret buying. I've watched it probably 3-4 times since I bought it at least.

Meh, I didn't get much out of it. It's honestly a slog to get through. I personally think the humor gets a little stale after awhile. This is Scorsese-lite, give me the adventurousness of Shutter Island any day of the week.
"Oh my god, look at how wild and out of control we are! Throwing midgets! Doing drugs for a hundred-and-eighty minutes straight! Reiterating the same crap over and over again!"

As much as I enjoyed the film I did get that sense during that scene where DiCaprio said (paraphrasing) 'So how did we pull off these scams? Well first we find a stock that's underperform....actually, why do you care? You just want to see us party!' |

It's just...it's Scorsese.
The Wolf of Wall Street is just so shallow, so benign. It's difficult to even notice that it's Scorsese. Though it might not be his best, but with Shutter Island--while wildly different--he at least had the guts to do something with the material. Even though he might fail, he was doing something really exciting.
