I like the plans, did they mention where Aquaman fits into this? After 2 is that shelved again?

Love this line-up. Particularly hyped for Swamp Thing. But I also appreciate the curveball picks like The Authority.
We're in good hands.

A PG13 Authority after the Boys adaptation seems kinda pointless. Better make it R.

Saw James mangold is in early talks for swamp thing.
I also agree with Ian but... Damnit I'm a sucker for Gunn's brand of movie and an over arching universe with that playful but serious tone could be just what the comic-malaised masses need.

If it ends up being a blockbuster, they'll probably make up some goofy excuse why it fits into the new continuity. If it bombs or does "meh" then they forget all about it.

Honestly, everything is up in the air, but if they're going to keep anything from the old guard, it'll be Momoa and Gadot, because they've been pretty unanimously the most popular things from those movies.

Ben Affleck is popular too, and even shot a cameo for Aquaman 2, but I’m pretty certain they’ll drop him like a hot potato. Jason Momoa still has a job because Warner Bros can’t take the financial risk of firing him before their $200M Aquaman comes out. And Gal Gadot still has a job because she’s in the new Shazam movie. Again, WB can’t risk those movies flopping cause audiences thinking they’re irrelevant (which they’ll most likely be).

The thing about Affleck is that while he was well received, I think it's clear he just wants to be done. It's also a partial overlap with why dropping Cavill was tempting too, because the fact is that anything to do with the SnyderVerse has way too much baggage on it at this point that it's best to just move on. Momoa and Gadot have the distinction of breaking free for some well-liked movies outside of what Snyder made, while Momoa's has the added plus of being the highest grossing DC film period (Entourage called it).
Shazam and Levi are likely up in the air with a lot riding of Fury of the Gods. Miller is likely going to get booted IMO, but they won't say anything until Flash makes all the money it's going to.
But we all know the fresh blood the DCU desperately needs...

It’s true that Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Shazam are the most detached from the Snyderverse but I’d imagine that James Gunn would like a clean slate. He just got fucked over cause WB has taken a million years to release these movies.

I think comic book movies are dead, probably. the end is in sight 50% of the annual top ten is a comic book movie. As long as they're the only consistent money earner like that they aren't going anywhere.
