Of course people are blaming the poor reception on review bombers, and that people can't handle the cast and representation.
Which I'm sure is part of it, but this stinks out loud.

Instead of going the Ventures Bros route, they went the “woke” route. But it's also just miserably tone-deaf. For its attempts at calling itself more progressive leaning, it apparently has a lot of elements that range from puzzling to downright creepy. The latest episode is stirring up additional controversy because the plot surrounds a teacher lusting over middle school girls. It's just sort of like who is this show for? Perhaps Mindy Kaling is purposely taking some beloved IP and trying to piss everyone off, but it's way more likely that she really thought this would be a cutting edge interpretation and it's a total failure. |
