Blockbuster (Netflix Series)

I worked at a Blockbuster for 7 weeks during the summer of 2002, those were some good times. Highlights:

1) A kid tried to rent a movie with a credit card and didn't have ID. The guy working with me, Sean, said he couldn't rent to him. The kid walks out, goes to the window that had stacks of returned DVDs sitting on the other side and bangs on the window causing all the DVDs to topple over. Sean walks out, beats the kid up and smashes a window on his car. Sean was promptly terminated.
2) I stole my manager's passcode to rent myself movies, not because I was renting too many but because I was embarrassed to ask him to rent me some of the movies my sister or mom wanted. They quickly found out and how I didn't get fired immediately is beyond me.
3) The many times that people gave me crap because of their late fees. Sometimes I would get rid of them with the click of a button but other times I would tell the person I cancelled their late fees, took the movie they returned, set it aside for two days in a special pile I had then checked it back in once their late fee doubled. Oops.

Worked at a Hollywood video in a suburb of the burgh the summer Hidalgo released.

The amount of pronunciations was incredible. We were a stones throw from some deep rural populations, and a horse movie with aragorn was just what the doctor ordered for them.

"Hilago"

"The one with the hobbit and horses"

I wonder what Sean is up to these days.

Just watched the first episode. Lame.

It was a failure in every country except Australia and Canada. PG Cooper has a lot of explaining to do.

Yeah... this show is really bad. Same here, couldn't make it through the first episode. Solid cast wasted on bad writing.
