I actually like this. It presents a ton of interesting opportunities, storytelling and character-wise. Especially if they bring back Tom Holland's Spider-Man into the mix. Just think of the kinds of juicy scenes between those two, where Peter has to contend with the man who looks like his once-mentor now being the guy he has to help stop.

This strikes me as an example of the kind of thing they should've been doing with the multiverse concept all along: take some big swings. I think this is pretty clearly going to be either a Doctor Doom from another world or an alternate Tony Stark from another world who broke bad and became Doctor Doom instead of Iron Man.

An idea of a multiverse as we have it now is just so stupid. We can retcon any story, bring back any character, have infinite silly cameos. Nothing holds any weight anymore, we can just redo everything.
