I wonder if this will ever come back and bite Marvel in the ass though. A guy like me for example, I'm never going to watch these new Avengers movies simply because by the time they come out I'll be so, so far behind everything that nothing will make sense to me. The only post-Endgame Marvel I've watched is No Way Home and I don't plan on going back and watching all the shows and all the movies I missed that for the most part are mediocre from what I've heard. Then there's the whole crop of material coming out between now and 2025. I know I'm an old curmudgeon but it was a lot easier keeping up with stuff when there was only a movie or two a year and not an endless stream of stuff that by and large is just okay.

They keep giving each other handjobs in the bushes at night. You have any idea how hard I work on those things every weekend?

Once I turn 40 the only things I’ll be watching are Yellowstone and Longmire reruns. Don’t laugh, you guys will be doing the same.

You're going to have to take a couple of days off and marathon that shit. After that you'll never want to fall behind again and will dutifully march out to theaters on opening weekend like the rest of us. That's how they get you.

Also, none of the Disney shows are important. Maybe Loki...

Wandavision clearly mattered to the last Dr. Strange, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will matter to the new Captain America film, Loki introduced Kang, F&WS and Hawkeye will both have some effect on Thunderbolts, and Ms. Marvel will probably have an impact on The Marvels. Only one that's really felt like a waste of time so far is Moon Knight, I would be happy to have that one retconed out of existence.

Honestly a few months ago I made a list of all the Marvel stuff and organized it chronologically according to the Marvel timeline so I knew the order to watch the ones I missed. The list was made but the most important part of the process, the actual sitting down to watch them, that's the part where I dropped the ball.

It's not like there's some kind of streaming service with all of these breezy English language movies available at the touch of a button making said sitting down about as easy as any human endeavor could possibly be.

Once I turn 40 the only things I’ll be watching are Yellowstone and Longmire reruns. Don’t laugh, you guys will be doing the same. Last Sunday I was at my parent's house for lunch, and they were listening to the same awful music my Grandparents used to listen to when we would go visit them for lunch on Sunday. I was a bit horrified. They never used to listen to that before. They are officially old. I was concerned for myself at first, but after thinking about it, I'm probably going to be okay in this regard. While my preferences in music have stayed more or less the same for the past twenty years, it's been a steady decline in my parents music tastes over the decades. In their twenties, I remember them listening to oldies (50's & 60's rock). In their thirties they transitioned to adult contemporary (Neil Diamond, Christopher Cross, Chicago, etc). In their forties until recently it was Smooth Jazz (John Tesh, Kenny G, etc). What they're listening to now sounds like what would be on Lawrence Welk! The horror.. the horror...
