Yes. Spider-Man is in it. The sequel to SnoBorderZero’s favorite superhero movie has arrived. This time, it feels even more like a 2000’s Fox-era Marvel movie. SnoBorderZero will cum in his pants! Short runtime. Rushed product. Cheap looking. Just the way Tom Rothman likes it! But I still had fun with it. Tom Hardy and the “Venom alien” are really fun characters and I look forward to their further escapades. I didn’t mind Woody Harrelson as Carnage. And Naomi Harris is unrecognizable as Shriek., I don’t know if it’s better or not than its 2018 predecessor — since I hardly recall anything about it, but I suspect it isn’t. As I said, the movie is on autopilot. It’ll turnoff a lot of people. But this movie is meant to entertain 12-years-olds and make easy cash with quick turnaround times in theatres. It’s fine for what it is.

Is the end credit scene as stupid as it sounds?

It’s the best scene in the movie. If the rest of the movie didn't suck, that might be something to brag about.

I guess slightly better than my expectations. Really rough start.
It's short. And that's it's best feature. Laughed out loud a few times, carnage is pretty sweet even if he is pg 13.
5/10 - you might hate it, you might not.

I can't believe people like this movie. I now have zero interest in Tom Hardy Venom being in Tom Holland Spider-Man movie.
Just bring back Topher Grace Venom at this point and just have them kill each other. lol

Saw it out of morbid curiosity. Hated it. Disliked it even more than the first (big surprise, right?). In the First Act especially, the 90-minute runtime didn't feel natural at all. It felt like they had trimmed up quite a bit, because the rhythm/flow just felt so choppy. As for the rest of the movie...the Eddie/Venom relationship was just plain stupid this time, all the humor fell flat, character motivations were either razor thin or nonexistent and the film as a whole just came off as a noisy, shapeless blob of things. I get that apparently most people enjoy these movies' 90's-style comic book movie tone, but it comes off as aggressively stupid to me.

The way the Venom voice says "Eddie" is deeply annoying.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage(10/5/2021) I must say I was confused when I heard that this second movie in the Venom franchise made ninety million dollars in its opening weekend. I could sort of get why people would be fooled into thinking that the first Venom was a “real” Marvel movie and make that a hit, but the fact that they showed up for a sequel suggests that they actually liked that movie and wanted more. Personally I didn’t completely hate that first movie but did find it to be a deeply inessential and forgettable effort and this sequel kind of made me wonder if I was even more generous to it than it deserved. Instantly as I started watching the new movie I was reminded of just how uninteresting Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock was as a character and how weird it is to be following this Spider-Man villain as a protagonist. There is more of an emphasis on the symbiont’s alien nature and the dark comedy of it constantly wanting to eat people, which could work, but I mostly just found the creature incredibly grading here and got very sick of hearing it say “Eddie” over and over again for much of the film. As the title implies, the film incorporates the villain Carnage to the proceedings here who is played by a scenery chewing Woody Harrelson doing a variation on his character from Natural Born Killers, which adds a little bit of life to the film but not a ton. There’s also a very strange subtext here about abusive relationships which seems incredibly tasteless. I will say that thing improve a bit in the second half when it leans more into just being a superhero movie. I normally find it disappointing when these movies just turn into CGI fight-fests, but here I found it to be more of a relief given how weak the human characters are. The way Venom and Carnage are rendered on-screen are generally one of the films’ strong points and I do like the way these inky toothy masses are done by the effects artists. Still, in this world where we have nothing but endless options for superhero movies we shouldn’t have to settle for something this half-assed, and I’m nothing but annoyed by the fact that this film’s post-credits sequence suggests that these are soon going to become even harder to ignore. *1/2 out of Five
