This completely slipped by me at first, but uh...Hoop Dreams is a documentary, not a narrative feature. And one of the rules here is to stick to films with narrative storytelling, per the same rules as the official AFI lists.
So...this leaves me in a bind. Either that movie/votes for it get disqualified, or, frankyt, you got something else up your sleeve? |

Personally I think we should be consistent with 00s/10s thread and keep docs out. Especially since Hoop Dreams will likely be the lone hold out in this (and potential future) lists.

Yeah, after briefly conferring with Skink, we're gonna hold firm on the Narrative-Only rule, to stay consistent with both the official AFI List Rules and the 00's/10's thread. So, unfortunately, Hoop Dreams is out and the two votes it's gotten are void.
frankyt now has the opportunity to submit a replacement. |
