Is anyone watching History Channel's Vikings? They just put both seasons on Hulu Plus and I've been cranking through the second one. It's pretty damn good if you like the historical Braveheart/Rome/Gladiator types.

I watch half of the first season but stopped. because it interfered with Game of Thrones. I liked it though and would like to catch up.

i personally think Vikings makes GOT look tame in the gore department. While Game Of Thrones is a better show. Vikings has more like a real thing that happened. Vikings remind you of or bloody history. While Game Of Thrones is a nice shocking escape from history of human violence.

Vikings is kinda similar only Rome had a little more of a soap opera going on among the historical backdrop. I read that Rome was cancelled because it was far and away the most expensive show for HBO at the time and was cancelled before season 2 wrapped filming. That's why there's like 5 year gaps between each of the last two or three episodes. Hopefully Vikings doesn't fall to the same fate after season 3. |

For sure. It's a shame too, since it had a lot of potential. If it had continued, it would have been cool to see Octavius grow into his role as emperor. As a person who loves classical history, it was a dream. But hopefully Vikings will fill that void.

HBO admits cancelling it was a mistake. But I agree. And Egypt was supposed to be it's own season. Polly Walker in general.

We're close to halfway through the third season and boy is this season shitting the bed in my opinion. I know they want to focus on their settlement in England but all these little alliances just aren't very interesting. The 'Wanderer' storyline in Kattegat is ridiculous too. It had better pick up soon if it wants to keep holding my interest.

Damn did I peter out on this show haha. They decided to kill off the main character in the 4th or 5th season then split it off into 4 or 5 way less interesting main characters. And everyone is screaming all the time. I kept up with it until a few years back but I haven't watched it in a long while. I feel that there's too much better tv that I haven't watched yet, I'm not sure if I'll ever come back to closing this out.
