Ned was such a prolific character actor that most people actually knew his name, rather than being, "that guy who's in everything" the way so many character actors are. He wasn't too proud to work on TV, or D-list movies like Captain America (1990). He slowed down considerably in the 21st Century, but considering all he did in the 20th, he more than earned a break. While he will be missed, his vast catalog will be with us always.
