Trailer wasn't bad, and I've liked everything I've seen from Wright (Atonement, Hanna and Anna Karenina), so to me it looks more promising than many of the other types of movies that look like this.

Bloody origin stories.
I blame Jesus.

Reminds me a little of the live-action 2003 Peter Pan, which I like a lot. So, I'm liking what I see so far.

I don't know. I remember the 2003 movie being rather straight-forward. I'm getting a Cirque de Solei vibe from this one.

It seems to look tonally similar to the 2003 movie, as well as being visually so in some places.

People are now outraged about Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily because - you know - it's supposed to be a Native American character. Between this, Exodus and the Ferguson stuff, the Internet has been super annoying this week. Thank God for Star Wars for providing SOME distraction.

I'll be damned. This looks interesting. It can only be better than last night's Peter Pan Live.

Maaaaaan. Ok I work in live theater, and though singing was great and most of the dancing, the costumes and set looked nice, and I understand the multitudes of moving pieces involved in putting together and show like that....What I watch looked like middle school production. The stage fights were terrible, I mean did they even have a fight captain?? And the overall staging was messy messy messy. I couldn't take it.
I've run shows with probably 1% of the budget they had with smoother results.

Tell me about it. And Christopher Walken's "performance" as Hook ... just awkward, and his attempt at a British accent was terrible.

I was originally thinking of seeing this in theaters, especially since I'm a pretty big fan of the Peter Pan lore, but now I'll just wait for the DVD. Too many other higher-profile movies out now/on the horizon.

From Capone's review at Ain't It Cool News:
If you give this subpar film your money, the only thing that's going to happen is someone will make another; you have no one but yourself to blame.
I remember saying the same thing to Tornado when he would constantly update his 'recently watched' list with a bunch of 1-star garbage movies. When will people learn that no one is impressed if you see 200 movies a year if 170 of them are crap? It doesn't make you any more of a 'movie fan.'
