Just saw the new trailer for this and it looks to be just as good as Daredevil. When they finally have Tennant speak, he pulls off a very creepy voice. Can't wait.

So I watched the whole season in three days. I liked it. I think Marvel and Netflix will have a great future together if they keep this up.

I think Marvel and Netflix will have a great future together. I hope this opens the door to Dark Horse and the other small companies. I would love to see a TV series based on Spawn or The Mask.

McFarlane has been working on a new Spawn show/movie for forever. It may never see the light of day at this rate.

Not done yet, but enjoying it so far. I like the character dynamics, and appreciate how this is different from Daredevil.

Tennant does a great job as Kilgrave and they fleshed him out a lot more than he ever was in the comics.

Spawn is viewed as very much a product of 90s comics where EVERYTHING had to be "X-treme"
There's good storytelling in there, but a huge hurdle to overcome.

I truly enjoyed Jessica Jones, even though it had the problems I was most concerned about. The plot and performances are great, and the show runners took the story in some interesting new directions from the source material. My only real gripe is that all of the flashbacks were shot exactly the same as the modern scenes, which is far from a deal breaker. I also really would have liked to see at least one scene in which Jessica was out trying to be a superhero in costume. Maybe we'll get something like this in season two, but I doubt it.
Krysten Ritter makes the role of Jessica her own, despite having a very different look from the source material. Mike Colter as Luke Cage is perfect casting, and has excellent chemistry with Ritter. I'm greatly looking forward to seeing their relationship progress during his series next year. David Tennant makes a disturbingly nonchalant villain who is far superior to the comics version of The Purple Man.
The use of the character Trish "Patsy" Walker is an unusual choice. In the comics, Patsy Walker started out as a character in cheesy romance comics between the 40's to the early 60's during the time Marvel was known as Timely Comics and Atlas Comics and nobody was reading superhero stories. Marvel eventually introduced Patsy into their superhero universe, and decided to turn her into the heroine Hellcat. The Trish of the Netflix series may eventually go that route, but it's hard to say. Her attempts at heroics didn't usually go very well, but she didn't let that stop her from continuing to try and help Jessica.

I hope this opens the door to Dark Horse and the other small companies. I would love to see a TV series based on Spawn or The Mask. I'd be interested in a series of The Mask. That has lots of potential. I don't see Netflix doing a Spawn series for several reasons. The big one is that it would be very expensive. The other is the level of input Todd McFarlane expects to have, which is pretty unreasonable by Hollywood standards. The general disinterest in the comic, which hasn't cracked the top 100 in ages, is of limited significance from a purely practical standpoint, but it doesn't help either.

Started watching this last night, and just like with Daredevil, the first episode alone has me hooked. It definitely already has a different feel than Daredevil, which I think is good, because these Netflix-Marvel shows shouldn't try to emulate each other too much. Ritter's nailing it so far; I'm used to her being wacky and silly like in Don't Trust The B---- In Apt 23, but she sure can be more reserved (of course, we got a taste of that in Breaking Bad). Mike Colter's also intriguing and I can already tell David Tennat is gonna be a great villain.
Anyway, like I did with Daredevil, I'm going to treat Jessica Jones as a traditional TV show and only watch one per week (every Friday in this case). Am I the only one who does this with the Netflix-produced shows?

I'm not terribly turned on by this show, I have a couple episodes left and it hasn't really done it for me. It's picked up here and there and Kilgrave is a great character, everything else seems to be running at about 60%. I know I'm not supposed to expect Daredevil and I didn't, it just doesn't really seem to be going anywhere other than 'we gotta stop this Kilgrave guy.' Nevermind the fact that she had the opportunity about fifty thousand times.
And Jessica Jones might be the crummiest superhero in New York. I don't mind that she seldom uses her powers but it makes me give the show a side-eye when they establish how she has super strength and can lift cars, bend steel, etc. only to get her ass kicked by just a couple people on several occasions. It's cool that the emphasis isn't on her powers but at least keep them consistent.

I still have two or three episodes left. When they had him in prison cell and he got away and the policeman went all psycho... It lost all consistency and I can't seem to get myself to finish it. Here's hoping Luke Cage turns out better.
