This week's weigh in is 163.4 lbs. That's a loss of 3.5 lbs. from last week. I will be the first to admit that this is not a normal amount of weight to lose in only one week. The primary reason is that I was forced by circumstances to skip lunch on Thursday and Friday, I suspect. There's also no doubt a certain degree of simple weight fluctuation involved as well. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if I've gained a pound by tomorrow morning's weigh in.
Continuing to exercise daily, mostly walking plus lots of stairs.
My movie goal took a severe beating this week. I've just got too much on my plate at the moment.
How is everyone else's goals doing? We're into February now. Anyone else managing to keep at it?

How is everyone else's goals doing? We're into February now. Anyone else managing to keep at it? I salute you, keeping it going well into Feb! That's awesome. I was out tobogganing with my kids and hurt my back again,l doing hardly anything. I seriously feel like an old dude these days because of how out of shape I am. Think I'm going to have to drop some money on one of those scheduled workout videos and training. I can't get any progress by myself. Anyone have any feedback about Chris Hemsworth's Centr fitness app? I know it has a lot on it like diet stuff, don't need that, just the workouts.

Will be hopefully be recording audio for my first YouTube video tonight. I've decided to start by retrofitting my review of the original Godzilla into a video. I those write-ups are right fucking there, so I might as well push them into the public and see how many people I make angry.
Now I just need to fumble around with a video editor. My ex says she might be able to help me with that, so we'll see how it turns out.

My own for 2021 is to read all the books Stanley Kubrick adapted to film. This is not for any self-improvement, I just think it would be fun.

This week's weigh in is 161.5 lbs. That's a loss of 1.9 lbs since last week.
Exercise continues to not be an issue, but that may be about to change. The weather here just isn't cooperating. It's too cold to go for a walk this weekend, and it looks like I'm probably not going into work on Monday, and possibly Tuesday as well. That means I'll be stuck with the fan bike, and I really prefer walking. What I'd really like to do is take up swimming, but that's impossible for a few months at least.
I only watched two movies this week. It's YouTube that's throwing me off my goal of one movie per day.

This week's weigh in is 159.6 lbs. That's a loss of 1.9 lbs. since last week.
I've been trapped inside most of this week, so I haven't been getting my exercise. Nevertheless, it doesn't seem to have had any impact on my weight loss yet.
Being trapped inside, I watched eleven movies this week.

This week's weigh in is 159.2 lbs. That's a loss of 0.4 lbs since last week. Not much of a drop, but I've been expecting this. As I've previously mentioned, I actually began my weight loss in August of 2020, and I steadily dropped weight for three months. Then in November I stopped losing weight, even though I was keeping to a healthy diet. I kept at it, and throughout November I noticed that while I wasn't losing any pounds, I was losing inches around my waist and my face was looking less puffy. In December I began steadily losing weight again, and that was about three months ago. I may be in for another month with little to no weight loss, but as long as the fat continues to melt away, I'm fine with that.
Still getting exercise.
Not making my one movie per day goal. I think I watched three this week.

This week's weigh in is 158.1 lbs. That's a loss of 1.1 lbs since last week.
I was able to get more exercise than usual this week thanks to my works assignments being unusually light. I suspect that's the primary reason I was able to lose as much weight as I did. As I was hoping, the inches are indeed continuing to fall off despite not having lost much actual weight.
I'm not sure how many movies I saw this week. It definitely wasn't one per day. I know I watched a couple, but I forgot to log them on the Track the Movies You Watched in 2021 thread.

This week's weigh in is 156.4 lbs. That's a loss of 1.7 lbs. since last week.
I managed to get some exercise in every day this week except yesterday, which is especially annoying since I didn't even go to work yesterday. I took a day off and decided to spend it getting a project I started years ago finally completed. I was expecting it to take about half the day. I didn't go to bed until midnight, and it's still not done. Anyway, I was too busy on the project to exercise.
I watched a couple of MST3K movies while I worked on a different project this week, but that's about it on the movie front.

This week's weigh in is 154.1 lbs. That's a loss of 2.3 lbs. since last week. My reward for making it down to 150 is going to be an M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens. I've wanted one since I first saw the movie. It's already on order, and should be arriving by the time I make it. At 160 I got a Maltese Falcon, and at 170 I got a gold chrome fertility idol from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I can't even imagine what I would look like if I were in the 150s. Nice work! Thanks, Doomsday. If you're wanting to lose weight, I highly recommend it. I've noticed a significant change in my emotional state lately that I attribute a lot to the weight loss. I'm happy almost all the time. It seems like the fat was weighing me down emotionally as well as physically. I don't starve myself. I eat three meals a day, and not just rabbit food. I hate salads for the most part, and don't bother with them. Find some recipes that are filling but low in calories. For example, I have a sandwich for lunch almost every day that's got guacamole, hot peppers, black olives, mushrooms, spinach, turkey, roast beef, bacon and cheese. It's very filling, and only about 300 calories. This week's weigh in is 152.4 lbs, a loss of 1.7 lbs since last week. I realized this week that I hadn't watched any movies in over a week, and that my resolution to watch one every day is just not going to work out. I've got too many other things going on in my life to take the time every day. I do continue to get plenty of exercise every day. It's one of the reasons I don't have time to watch movies. On a good day, I get 20,000 steps in.

This week's weigh in is 152.1 lbs, a loss of 0.3 lbs. Certainly not as much as I'd prefer, but what's important is that it continues to go down. I have more energy these days than I've felt in decades. I have a hard time just sitting still when I'm at work. As soon as I'm done with whatever I've been tasked with that keeps me tied to a desk, I take a walk at the park a few blocks away.

This week's weigh in is 149.4 lbs, a loss of 2.7 lbs since last week. Now that I've finally passed the 150 mark, I get to have something I've always wanted- an M41A Pulse rifle with over/under pump action grenade launcher that fires 10mm standard caseless light armor piercing rounds. She's already on order, but still hasn't arrived. I didn't mind that it was running a bit late before, but now that I'm allowed to have it on display and it's more than three weeks late, I'm officially annoyed.

This week's weigh in is 148.8 lbs, a loss of 0.6 lbs since last week. Things are definitely slowing down, but I'm fine with that. To be frank, I'd be perfectly happy being a the weight I'm at right now, if it weren't for the fact that quite a bit of that weight is fat rather than muscle. Unfortunately, I'm just not genetically predisposed towards having much in the way of muscle mass. The only way for me to be at my current weight without being fat is to dedicate what little free time I have towards working out, and I'm not prepared to do that. I've got things to do, and body building simply doesn't interest me. I'm just going to go back to being thin, and for the most part I'm already there. All the fat I've got left is on my belly at this point, and modern clothing does a fine job of masking the fact.
I do continue to get plenty of exercise, even if it's not particularly strenuous. I generally get between 15,000 and 25,000 steps in per day.
Bloody pulse rifle STILL hasn't arrived. They say it will be in my hands by next Saturday. I hope so, for their sake.

That's great! Looks like you are so close to your minimum goal of 140.
Any plans when you get there to celebrate or reward yourself?

Just curious, how tall are you Wyldstaar?
I'm revving up to get back into workout mode, I know that once I go back into the office whenever that is I'll be kicking myself for not getting in shape when I was at my house full time. Granted I work long hours even from home and having kids absolutely changes your entire lifestyle from head to toe but I know I need to start putting the time in, I'll regret it otherwise.
I do know how to work out however, I actually did a lot of it for most of my life. I swam/played water polo in high school but we never lifted weights at all so I was always very lean when I was younger, 140s-150s as a kid who was 5'9 (current height). In college I started hitting the weights and I went to the low to mid 160s. One day during the summer one of my workout buddies bought creatine and was impressed by it. I tried it out too for a while and I jumped from the 160s to the mid-180s. Granted I was lifting more, a lot more actually but I didn't feel comfortable taking supplements. The problem was that after I stopped taking creatine my weight didn't drop, I stayed in the 180s and that became my new cruising weight which kinda frightened me. After college I decided to pursue a career that required high levels of physical fitness (that's another story) and whipped myself back into pretty great shape. I'm not super tall and I know my body wasn't meant for running but I trained enough to run 4 to 5 miles at a 7 minute pace. I slimmed down to around 170 and was in the best shape of my life (and will probably ever be) at 27 from working out every day, sometimes twice a day. That career path didn't work out though, life happened and I stopped pushing myself as hard. Enter my current career which has delicious food on hand at all hours of the day, being sat at a desk for 12-14 hours at a pop and a couple of kids nipping at your heels and the weight jumps back on pretty quick. I'm confident that I could slim down and get myself back into shape, maybe not 150s but I know I could lose a good 20-25 pounds without killing myself. If you know how to do it and know what exercises suit your goals that often makes all the difference. I also amassed a pretty decent weight set with 10-50 lbs sets of dumbbells, a pull up bar and a few odds and ends so paying for a gym is unnecessary, I have pretty much everything I would want to use. So I have the knowledge and the equipment, I just need the time and determination. I know being in good shape in my 20s has absolutely benefitted me in my 30s especially since I've been pretty lax at exercising the past 5 years or so. I have plenty of friends my age who hardly did any exercise in their twenties and now they're the ones with the sore knees, the backs that are starting to bother them, etc. It sounds overly simplistic but being in just decent shape and frequently exercising, even if it's just walking for 30 minutes, can help and prevent so many health problems and will pay dividends down the road health-wise. Reading this thread though is motivating me, no joke. Thanks Wyldstaar and keep up the good work!

Just curious, how tall are you Wyldstaar? I'm 5'10". Until my metabolism changed, I was always rail thin to the point where I was very self-conscious about it. Think Steve Rogers before the Super Soldier Syrum level of thin. At least I don't have to worry about that anymore.

You know what, I'm going to stop getting down on myself and direct all my attention to my physical health. My mental is not so good, but it will come around if I do more physical exercise and just more focus on caring for myself. Will update as I workout. My goal is to shed some weight, I'm cruising around 203 lbs which isn't too bad as I'm 6'3" but it's basically hanging on my stomach. No, I don't like looking 4 months pregnant. If I can get to around 190 lbs but all muscle, that would be great. Thanks for reading your last posts, Wyld and Doom, they helped.

Since I was a teenager I was always more stocky than anything, I was never a skinny build unlike others in my family who are rail thin no matter how much they eat or how little they exercise.. On the plus side it helps hide any extra pounds I may put on but it's really noticeable when I lose any.

Decided to dive in yesterday and see what happens/how sore I get. Small set of pushups, situps, squats and plank. 4.4 km run. Not feeling much so I think will start to transion into a run every other day with alternating upper and lower body workouts. Aiming for multiple small sets throughout the day instead of 1 big workout time that just doesn't seem be possible right now.

Today's weigh in is 147.7 lbs, a loss of 1.1 lbs since last week.
Since I thought there might be some interest, I thought I'd start posting some of my meals/recipies for low calorie yet filling foods that I've been using. My philosophy since I first started has been that it's not how much you eat, it's what you eat. I don't generally do much calorie counting, but I'll do so for these for those who prefer to keep track of it. While I don't use Weight Watchers, I do subscribe to their notion that fruits and vegetables don't count towards one's daily calorie intake, so those will get an N/A.
Starting with something simple today- a sandwich. I have this for lunch almost every day.
2 slices of Nature's Own Lite Honey Wheat Bread- 80 calories Guacamole- N/A Black Olive Spread- N/A Hot Pepper Spread- N/A Sliced Mushrooms- N/A Spinach- N/A 3 slices of Oscar Mayer Natural Slow Roasted Roast Beef- 35 calories 2 slices of Simple Truth Peppered Turkey- 35 calories 1 slice of Kirkland Signature bacon- 45 calories 2 slices of Sargento ultra thin Provolone cheese- 80 calories
Total- 275 calories
Hot Pepper Spread
1 jar of Pot Belly Hot Peppers (available at Pot Belly Sandwich locations)
Pour the jar of hot peppers into a wire mesh strainer, allowing the olive oil to drain into a bowl. Cover and allow to sit and drain for about an hour. Put the hot peppers into a food processor and chop until the peppers are mostly in pieces no more than 2-3mm, or to your personal preference. A jar will make enough to last quite a while. Store in a sealed container and refrigerate.
Pour the olive oil into an olive oil decanter. If you like your olive oil with a kick to it, then this is the best olive oil you're going to find anywhere. Be warned however, frying with it will fill the air with capsaicin, and be a bit hard on the eyes if you don't use a grease guard (and even then, some is still going to get out).
I would recommend making this spread first, and immediately afterward making the Black Olive spread, so that you don't need to bother cleaning the food processor. Whatever's left will go just fine in the Black Olive spread, and it's all going on the same sandwich anyway. I make them separately because I use the Hot Pepper spread in other things.
Black Olive Spread recipie
1 can of black olives minced garlic garlic powder onion powder olive oil
Put all ingredients into a food processor and chop until the olives are mostly in pieces no more than 2-3mm, or to your personal preference. Spice levels also to personal preference. A jar will make enough to last quite a while. Store in a sealed container and refrigerate.
While it's true that avocados and olive oil have fat in them, it's the good kind that is actually quite healthy and will even aid your weight loss if used in moderation.

Well, I was super busy yesterday and forgot to weigh in or post. Today on Sunday my weigh in is 147.2, a loss of 0.5 lbs since last week. Due to the weather and work, I wasn't able to get as much exercise as I usually do. That probably had some impact, but I suspect I'm rapidly approaching the wall, when it comes to losing weight. I'm just going to have to see how things play out over the next few weeks.
I've never been a big fan of breakfast. Even as a kid, all I'd usually have for breakfast would be a breakfast bar/granola bar of some kind. When I got older, I stopped having breakfast altogether for the most part. When you're trying to lose weight, all the experts agree that you need to have breakfast. Apparently, if you don't eat early in the morning, your body takes that to mean that food is scarce and whatever you do eat that day should be turned to fat to address the food shortage. So, I have breakfast now, even though I don't want to.
All I have for breakfast each day is 30 grams of unsalted mixed nuts (almonds, cashews, peanuts and pistachios), and some blueberries. Reportedly, blueberries have a substance in them that impedes the body's ability to create new fat cells.
