Part of me thought Peyton Reed would do it after Ant-Man 3. The horror.. the horror... It's bad enough he's doing Ant-Man 3. I was hoping they'd learned an important lesson with Thor: Ragnarok. Apparently not. The news regarding the director doesn't do much for me. I've enjoyed his Spidey film, but it didn't do anything to really WOW me. That said however, I suspect that between Sony and Marvel/Disney pulling in various directions, he didn't have a great deal of control over that project. Fantastic Four will be a proper MCU film, so Watts will simply be answering to Feige. PLEASE give us a Fantastic Four circa 1961, fish out of water story! |

I was hoping they'd learned an important lesson with Thor: Ragnarok. Apparently not. Audiences have been... okay... with the Ant-Man movies. Unlike Thor: The Dark World which everyone hated. The choice is underwhelming... but I kinda see what they're doing. Thor: Ragnarok was worse than Ant-Man 2, but both are bottom tier Marvel. lol |

I just mean that Ragnarok was a major departure from the two previous films, and really took a chance. Peyton Reed doesn't take chances. I want Fantastic Four to bring something totally different to the MCU. There's loads of potential there, just waiting to be tapped. |

I have faith MCU could do it. The Spider-Man movies are too attached to the Iron Man movies, but their version of Spider-Man, tonally at least, isn't too far off from Stan Lee. If they let the Fantastic Four be the Fantastic Four, I can see Jon Watts pulling it of. |

That being said, it’s possible the reports are misinformation. We just saw Evan Peters return as Quicksilver. So they might use the Fox X-Men in other shows or movies. Thor: Love & Thunder has been shooting in Sydney, Australia since January 26th. She might have a cameo in that. To my knowledge, that’s the only Marvel property currently shooting in Australia. Everything else is either London, Atlanta or Los Angeles. |
