R.I.P. Ken Spears Man, this show is fucking awesome. It’s a nice blend of Max Fleischer, Richard Donner and John Byrne with a dose of your typical 80’s era American animation. Episode 1 is about Lex Luthor creating a line of robots called the Defendroids whose purpose is to replace Superman. Problem is, Luthor is staging the crimes that the Defendroids are stopping, essentially destroying Superman’s reputation through fake news. I like the action and humor. It’s also hilarious that Luthor has a teenage assistant (possibly a girlfriend) named Jessica Morganberry. There’s also a mini segment at the end showing Kal-El as a toddler causing havoc at a orphanage. It’s pretty cute and funny.

Episode 3, Superman fights a dragon in China. Also, a babysitter struggles to put a child aged Clark Kent to sleep so she can go makeout with her boyfriend. This episode was written by 1godzillafan.

If it were written by me, she'd be making out with her girlfriend instead of boyfriend.

Bonechill episode is pretty good. It has the tone and feel of an old Scooby-Doo show.

This version of Superman somehow managed to go completely under my radar. A lot of it no doubt had to do with my being in High School at the time, and more interested in sleeping late on Saturday morning after being up late on Friday night. I didn't even know it existed until a few years ago. I've been meaning to add it to my library, but it's eluded me so far. Since the series holds no fond memories for me, it's not a priority. I'll almost certainly pick it up someday.
