One of my all-time favourites, unsurprisingly. The first three albums are perfect Heavy Metal. Will also second thebtskink's picks.

I'm more fond of Metallica's really deep cuts.

Metallica was the first heavy metal band (and in many ways the first band period) that I got into. I think in the long run they kind of ruined heavy metal for me because everything softer than them comes off as weak sellout shit but everything heavier than them feels like unlistenable noise, and then everything that's equally as heavy as them kind of feels like a second rate imitation.
A lot of my favorites have already been named but, their masterpiece is almost certainly One

I love One. There was a good period where the radio station here played the version from the 92 live album nonstop

I'll sit this one out and listen to whatever you guys post, I know nothing outside of the song from The Departed.

Never the biggest Dropkicks fan.
The punk kids were accusing them of selling out when I was a high school senior back in 2002, and I'd had too many of those types of discussions by that point to really get into them.
That said, I like this one:

The first warped tour I went to as a high schooler had dropkick as the headliner. I've never seen so many enormous signs being just carried around all day waiting for them to come on.
Huge irish population in pgh so it's not surprising now but I was stunned. And also shocked that people were so excited for... That. Never got into em. We have a local band similar called the bastard bearded irishman and I guess they're alright.
The one huge dropkick song is alright though.
But let's go with some real hit makers... Hall and Oates.

Went into a Hall and Oates show a few years back not knowing a ton of their catalog besides the hits.
Fantastic show. Daryl Hall has an amazing voice.
Second most fun I've had at a concert.

Hall and oates are straight hit makers. You can see a show and not know their songs at all and still sing just about every single song.
Family man, man eater, rich girl, private eyes, I can't go for that.
Fantastic live concert. Still number 344 in the world on Spotify for good reason.
And the tribute bands are legion for a reason.

I like Hall and Oates, but I'm no expert on them and most of their big hits are kind of on equal footing for me. I guess if I had to pick one song it would be Rich Girl.

To commemorate their new album I thought I'd throw out one of my all-time favorite bands from college, AC/DC. Does a lot of their stuff sound the same? Sure. Is it pretty juvenile and shallow music? No doubt. But is there any band that's more fun to listen to? Hardly. I won't throw out any obvious Highway to Hell or Back in Black or Thunderstruck tracks so here are a few other songs that I enjoy from both the Bon Scott and Brian Johnson eras. Bon Scott: Brian Johnson:

Probably my absolute favourite:
Some other choice cuts:
Classic rock radio stations have largely hurt my enthusiasm for AC/DC, but they are a pretty awesome rock band who have absolutely nailed their sound.

This thread is a blessing.
