Jays were to play the Phillies thus weekend, all postponed now. MLB knows they got to go nuclear on it now or risk ruining the season.

Yep. Takes a few days to weed out the false negatives too. Complete mess. At least 2 Phils and 19 Marlins now. It's a disaster. Phillies games against the Blue Jays are now postponed. They play the Yankees next week, so those will be pushed too I'm assuming. So basically every time a positive test happens, the games for that team are essentially scrapped for at least a week. How the fuck do they think they're going to get 60 games to happen in due time? It's clear that despite what Manfred tries to sell us about MLB having contingency plans in place for just this sort of thing that they were hoping they could just rush through these 60 games, get to the World Series, crown a champion and move onto next year as quickly as possible and it's all blowing up in their face. Trust me on this, the NFL will be monitoring how much better the NBA and NHL finish their seasons using the hub cities and will be doing the same. There's no reason for MLB, with no fans in the stadiums, to be traveling. Who in their right mind would want to go to Florida, Georgia, or Arizona right now to play games? It's no coincidence that the Miami Marlins are the most afflicted team with South Florida being the hotbed in the country right now (hell, the world!) for the virus. Manfred is awful. I didn't think we'd have a commissioner in sports worse than Gary Bettman of the NHL, but Manfred makes Bettman look like Adam Silver. What a mess! |

I think they honestly would've been fine if the Marlins reacted they way should've and cancelled that game when the first 3 cases came out, quarantined the afflicted.
Can't fix stupid though.

Its officially going down, Manfred is warning that a shutdown is possible if things get worse.
I really hope they clear it up and the games can continue for all safely, I just don't know if that's possible. My Dad is older, in his 80s and has a lung condition so he has been basically quarantining himself this whole time. He loves baseball and it coming back helped him feel better. He really looked forward to it and will take it hard of it does stop.
