Superman II
The lack of a strong driving force to bring Marvel Comics to the silver screen resulted in DC Comics feeling a false sense of accomplishment by having a handful of films on the market. WB got complacent, and it's going to become apparent in the next face-off.

They sold the rights to Swamp Thing to Embassy Pictures, because they thought so little of the character.

The one time WB tried their hand at Swamp Thing was the new TV show, and they still fucked it up by cancelling it.

All we got was a recalled DVD. For real? Barbeau's topless scene was for the International Version, while the US version had her skinny dipping, but no real nudity. When the film was released on DVD, MGM used the International Version, but still kept the PG rating. Some parent watched it with their kid, saw Adrienne Barboobies, and threw a hissy fit, leading MGM to recall all the DVDs and reissue them with the theatrical cut. I think even Shout's blu-ray is the theatrical cut.

The one time WB tried their hand at Swamp Thing was the new TV show, and they still fucked it up by cancelling it. They thought it was too much of a horror show and thought Swamp Thing needed to fight villains of the week. Idiots.

THE FINAL VOTE:Superman III actually like the 90's Fantastic Four movie. It's silly, and cheesy, and so adorably sincere. But it's going up against what was my favorite DC movie for a good long time, so it's going down. The ScoreSuperman II: 7 The Fantastic Four: 1WINNER:DCSON OF JOR-EL, KNEEL BEFORE ZOD! Snoochie boochies! Aheheheheheheheh! The Fantastic Four didn't make it to the fight. It seems that Marvel just locked them up and pretended they didn't exist. DC: 3 Marvel: 0 Draw: 1ROUND 5!
IN THIS CORNERSuperheroes: Ray Wise as Alex Holland, Dick Durock as Swamp Thing Supervillains: Louis Jourdan as Anton Arcane, David Hess as Ferret, Nicholas Worth as Bruno, Ben Bates as Monster Arcane, Tommy Madden as Little Bruno Civilians: Adrienne Barbeau as Alice Cable, Reggie Batts as Jude, Nannette Brown as Linda Holland Run Time: 1 Hour 31 Minutes (US Version), 1 Hour 33 Minutes (International Version) Director: Wes Craven (Music of the Heart, The Hills Have Eyes, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) Writer: Wes Craven (The Hills Have Eyes, A Nightmare on Elm Street) Music: Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th) Cinematography: Robbie Greenberg (Time Walker, Free Willy, The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause, Wild Hogs) Tomatometer: 67% IMDB: 5.4 Story: Dr. Alec Holland, his sister Linda, and Alice Cable develop an experimental formula in their swamp-based laboratory. But the lab is stormed by Anton Arcane and his minions, who are there to steal the formula in an effort to achieve immortality. During the struggle, Alice escapes with the Hollands' notebook, Linda is killed, and the formula sets Alec on fire, who flees into the swamp water. As Arcane hunts Alice through the swamp, she finds her savior to be a humanoid plant monster, a creature that was once Alec Holland. Pros: WES CRAVEN DIRECTED A SWAMP THING MOVIE?!?!?! Cons: Once you watch the new Swamp Thing series, can you really go back to this? AND IN THIS CORNERSuperheroes: Tommy Lee Jones as Agent K, Will Smith as James Darrell Edwards III/Agent J, Rip Torn as Agent Zed Supervillains: Vincent D'Onofrio as Edgar/The Bug Civilians: Linda Fiorentino as Dr. Laurel Weaver, Tony Shaloub as Jeebs, David Cross as Newton, Tim Blaney as Frank Run Time: 1 Hour, 37 Minutes Director: Barry Sonnenfeld (The Addams Family, Addams Family Values, Wild Wild West) Writer: Ed Soloman (Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, Super Mario Bros., Charlie's Angels, Now You See Me 2, Bill & Ted Face the Music) Music: Danny Elfman (The Simpsons, Beetlejuice, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas) Cinematographer: Don Peterman (Flashdance, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Point Break) Oscars Won: Best Make-Up Oscars Nominated: Best Art Direction, Best Original Music or Score Golden Globes Nominated: Best Comedy or Musical Tomatometer: 92% IMDB: 7.3 Story: NYPD officer James Edwards is recruited into a secret government organization known as the Men in Black, who control the immigration and activity of extra-terrestrials on Earth. Now dubbed as Agent J, he partners up with grizzled MIB vet Agent K to investigate an alien Bug that is seeking out an object on Earth that could spark an intergalactic war that destroys our planet. Pros: Everybody just bouncin' with me, just bounce with me, just bounce with me, Everybody just sliiiiide with me, just slide with me, just slide with me, Everybody take a walk with me, just walk with me, just walk with me. Cons: Now make your neck work. Now freeze. FIGHT!

I stated in the first post that I'm including owned imprint companies.
Though I might have missed a step with excluding Red Sonja, who was created for a Marvel comic run of a non-Marvel owned character but is now owned by another company. She makes my head spin, so I'm just going to set her to the side.

I haven't seen Swamp Thing so I abstain. You really think Swamp Thing is better than Men in Black? Probably not. But I still feel odd voting when I have almost no context for the one of the pieces.
