I loved how this whole season was one continuous story, just adding their usual topic of the week elements to the frey, as per usual. Randy's whole arc has been hilarious, from his Lorde bit to his Cock Magic gold. Very much satisfied with he level of laughter I found myself expressing.

It was taken out of rotation during the promotional period for Mission Impossible III. Cruise had threatened to not show up for the press junket if Paramount didn't step in, so they appeased him until the junket was over. Once the movie hit theaters, Trapped in the Closet was put back on the schedule and everyone involved denied that any of it ever happened. |

At the time, Matt Stone said that they weren't planning on making any more episodes if Comedy Central didn't re-air it. They definitely waited for some time, though. It didn't rebroadcast for more than two months after the release of MI3 (four months after the first airing).

Tom Cruise did leave Paramount though. He went to run United Artists with Paula Wagner. I don't think he made another Paramount movie till Ghost Protocol.

South Park has been renewed through 2019 to push it past the 300 episode mark. I'm definitely all for this.

I keep forgetting about South Park. The last episode layout change they made was a big mistake. South Park doesn't have anywhere near the significance it use to when it would air twice a year. Having said that, I'm pretty sure Parker and Stone are just doing it for the paycheck now. Not to say they don't try when they make new episodes, but they don't really care if the series continues or not. So the less work they have to do, the better.

Well, yes the 10 episodes format isn't as good, but I thought the last season was pretty solid overall. They tried some new things (like continuing plotlines through the season) to shake things up, and even the weakest South Park episode will still get laughs from me. I agree that Parker and Stone are tired of it and want to move onto other ventures, but I'm not unhappy about more South Park. It's still funnier than 95% of television.

The season premiere last night was simply amazing. One of the best episodes they've made, period. It's hard to think that they'll be able to top/match that episode the rest of the season, it was so on point and hilarious. They made fun of overly PC people, Caitlyn Jenner, Jared Fogle, Bill Cosby and Deflategate all in one. Even the City Wok guy showed up!
