Kevin Smith's story about his experience with Jon Peters in trying to write a Superman movie featuring a giant spider and then going to see Wild Wild West one or two years later is so great.

The spider story is amazing. And the fact that it finally landed in a western movie based on a TV series that only had slight sci-fi/fantasy elements is the best part.
Every time we discuss Wild Wild West it just makes me want to watch it!

I first saw Blade Runner thanks to my Digital Video tutor at uni, who played it in its entirety during the last lecture before Christmas in my first year.
Not sure why I'd never bothered before, as it instantly made my top 10.
