I won't be going anywhere near new Star Trek for the foreseeable future. If they sell Star Trek to someone with some sense, I'll give them another chance. Until then, I'll stick with the older stuff. Everything since STD has been painful, which would seem appropriate really.

I don't like Discovery and Picard as much as Voyager, DS9 and The Next Generation But it doesn't make me hate it. I don't bother with any Star Trek movie after The Undiscovered Country. Enterprise was loaded with potential, but they didn't live up to that potential until they knew they were going to be cancelled. Then suddenly it became a good show. I've only seen Nemesis once, and that was when it was in theaters. All I really remember about it is that it had Romulans, Data was killed for no reason other than Brent Spiner didn't want to play him anymore (not that it mattered, since there were no more TNG movies) and that the movie made no sense and made me angry. |

Yea I gotta say I don't hate it. About 4 eps in. The singing second episode was a bit cw ish, and I'd like they to tackle some bigger issues of the day eventually but they're working it out. The only trek show recently both my dad and me agree on.
But he hasn't finished lower decks.

Just a head's up. This is on the Paramount Plus YouTube channel for free at the moment. I'd heard that this was proper Star Trek, and I have to say that three episodes in, I agree completely.

2 eps into S2 now. Thank you to IanTheCool and 1godzillafan for their positive reviews being the push I needed. It's the perfect mix of old trek episodic stricture and modern sensibilities. The humor is great, the main characters all have good motivations. |

Just finished S2. Sublime season. Really sad I'm gonna have to wait until 2025 for S3.
