Chloe Bennett is so damn hot in this stupid movie. Add it to SnoBorderZero’s spank bank. They took a classic Nick Cage movie from the 80’s and turned it into an episode of Glee. I love the cast. Jessica Rothe is muh gurl. So I sat through it. It’s not terrible. It’s practically an MTV Movie of the Week. Harmless. Although what’s up with Alicia Silverstone turning into an old lady. Can people not age, please. |

I don't really know what I expected from a musical remake of an 80's movie I haven't even seen, so maybe I shouldn't be surprised that this Valley Girl is the way that it is. It's like the cinematic equivalent of bubble gum: all about the pop, but after a while, you just have to spit it out. The movie at least has energy, good musical numbers and a fun performance by Jessica Rothe, who I hope keeps getting opportunities, but it doesn't take long for the style of Valley Girl to wear on you. I typically enjoy musicals, but this one reminded me a little of Grease with its overtly cheesy tone and that's not the best height to reach for, if you ask me.
