The best sidekick villain ever (and maybe best villain in general) in Oddjob. The scene of the girl being covered in gold is immensely iconic. Pussy Galore. A character is named Pussy Galore.

Tatiana literally walks into an office, the lady checks her out and approves of her looks. Next scene we see her in, she's naked in bed and waiting for James Bond to arrive. They have sex while being secretly filmed. This is some Donald Trump Pee Tape type shit. She isn't Pussy Galore. She isn't the redhead from Thunderball. She isn't Xenia Onatopp from GoldenEye. She isn't some female henchwoman that can go toe-to-toe with James Bond. No. This is straight-up a prostitute and they couldn't have made that anymore explicit. And James Bond has the nerves to slap her around. This mentally and physically abused sex worker who is on countless government-issued sex films that are probably sold on the black market. And then at the end of the mission, Bond dumps her like every other woman that crosses his path. This is worse than the barn scene in Goldfinger. Pussy Galore is a big girl. She can defend herself. She may tell Bond she's gay but her actions speak differently. Take, for example, the scene in which Goldfinger gets handsy with her. She stops that right away and Goldfinger knows not to fuck with her. Like I said, she's a big girl. She can defend herself. And with Bond she never really had her guard up. She was always jokey and flirty with him. Bond was like, "you know what, I think this chick is bi" and he wasn't wrong. She could have turned him down the way she turned down Goldfinger, the dude who literally killed a group of mobsters in his living room. She wasn't scared of Goldfinger. She was ready to go 12-rounds with the motherfucker. So, come on, we know she wanted that Bond dick. |
