Alright folks, I'm gonna put a brief pause on Performances of the Decade. I intend on coming back and finishing this, but it's a little bit more to put together day in and day out than a standard 64 film tournament, so we're gonna adjust and focus on different idea before coming back.
The new tournament will be..... The Autueurnament.
I ran this tournament back in the day on the old CS site, so I guess it's not new, but I figure it's time for a bit of a revival. For lack of a better term, we came up with a fake name of "Auteurnament", though if I do remember correctly, credit goes to Jibbs for the name. I will take a total of 16 directors and assign 4 of them to each region. As always there will be 4 regions in total. So, for example, Region 1= 4 Directors, Region 2=4 Directors and so forth. Each director will be represented by 4 films of my choosing, so the only criteria is that they need to have directed at least 4 movies for me to pick from.
The goal is to have the directors own movies battle it out for the first 2 rounds, so that by the time we get to the Sweet 16, each director will have 1 movie left to represent them.
I am finalizing the list of participants as we speak and hope to have the first battle up by tonight or this weekend. Looking forward to it.
