As much as I wrestled with the positioning of the remaining 19 films, I stand behind my #1 choice, and my top 6. They were my top cinematic experiences of the past decade that still resonate with me today, Rogue One more so than the rest. Not a popular choice, but my choice.

Rogue One won the Disney Wars. This coming from Mr. Mandalorian? If we’re counting Mandalorian, then yeah, that’s the winner. But the J.J.-Rian Trilogy might as well be the prequels at this point. Rogue One came out unscathed from this Disney disaster. And Solo will probably find a cult audience.

Force Awakens is still my favorite of the new movies. And I've come to appreciate Solo more. My biggest problem with Rogue One is it's made up of flat, uninteresting characters.

Technically, yes, Force Awakens is the best of the Disney movies but the sequels kinda ruined it. All that set up, all that JJ mystery box, for nothing. I had this same argument with SnoBorderZero. Say what you want, but at least the prequels had a pay-off.

The new trilogy's payoff was Rey having an "I am your (grand)father" moment and a Sith redemption in the middle of the hero's inner turmoil with the dark side while an old man annoys her by saying "Strike me down" repeatedly.
I'm so glad they made this new trilogy. So many NEW stories to tell!

I'm so tired of talking about Star Wars. I've actively tried to avoid it for 35 years straight.

Thank you Dracula ! Excellent job. 2 things to add: 1) I'm sad I didn't get to lend my voice and vote to this, but I am 100% satisfied with the final list, though I have to admit I still haven't see The Master or Inside Llewyn Davis. I'll have to prioritize them. While they didn't place, I was happy to see Bone Tomahawk, The Nice Guys, John Wick, Three Billboards, and Edge of Tomorrow on the list. I would have probably traded out those 5 out for Llewyn, Master, Blade Runner 2049, Irishman, The, and Hereditary. - I consider Bone Tomahawk the best western I've seen in years, save for Hateful 8. - The Nice Guys took a tired formula of a buddy-cop movie, and did it better than any before it. I'd challenge y'all to name a better buddy cop movie. Being that it's arguably the best of it's niche-genre, I think it deserves to be higher up. - John Wick, like Nice Guys, took a genre (one-man revenge murder fantasy) and did it better than the rest. Previously, I would have pointed to Rambo or Dredd as the best of this "niche-genre," but Wick now takes the cake, and has done it extremely well 3 times now. - Three Billboards might be lost in a lot of people's lists as another depressing indie movie, and I could argue Manchester is the best of this genre and we don't really need another of its kind on the list, but this one struck a chord with me for reasons I still haven't wrapped my head around. - Edge of Tomorrow. This movie list has its share of sci-fi with Arrival, Inception, and Interstellar, and they all deserve to be there, but Edge of Tomorrow is nothing like the rest of them, and killed it with an alien-time-travel sci-fi movie that is easily one of the best Tom Cruise movies you could ever ask for. This movie is just fun to watch over and over again, and I'd kick it up the list, personally. Interception, though, damn. I re-watched this for the ... 4th time a month ago? And it finally clicked with me. I enjoyed it the other three times, but this fourth viewing was just the one that resonated with me deeply. It's an extraordinary film, and even thinking about it now invokes a lot of emotions. 2) Can someone fill me in on who Doomsday is and what his hollywood job is? I feel like the only person on the boards who doesn't know at this point lol.

He's a wacky prop comic that lucked himself into a VFX job.

Well that's cool. I'd love to see a write-up or something on what your experience has been like, what you've been able to work on, how you got involved - your story basically. I used to have a pretty cool gig for Warner Records in marketing that was a rock star-esque experience at times that I kind of stumbled into, so I love hearing those stories from fellow entertainment industry folks.

Well I'm no prop comedian I'm afraid but I do work in production-side visual effects, meaning I work for a studio on a specific project rather than a VFX company like ILM who moves its employees from movie to movie. It's the standard story of me knowing someone which is how I got my foot in the door but I've been able to rub elbows with or at least been in the company of some pretty cool industry folks. For whatever reason I'm always wary of posting details online that will out me but I'm facebook friends with a lot of you and I don't think a lot of new people are coming across these boards anyways. I'll delve into it in a bit. Sno works in production as well, I think he was on Coming to America 2? I'm sure he has a pretty rad story too.
