The article doesn't mention anything about the cost of filming Hamilton for two weeks to an empty theater full of movie cameras. I have to wonder if that was part of the $75 million price tag, or if that was a separate cost that Deadline failed to mention.

Uncle Sam foot the bill.

PhantomKnight SnoBorderZero PG CooperTwo f-words removed to make it PG-13 news.avclub.com/the-mpaa-unable-to-let-us-have-nice-things-edited-2-1844126100People are criticizing Disney but the real issue here is the MPAA. Is Hamiliton really R-rated? Disney should have let the MPAA give it an R rating and then let the court of public opinion do its thing. Imagine now, with all the shit going on, if people found out the white boomers at the MPAA gave Hamiliton, a work from Latino's and Black people, an R-rating cause of the f-word. The MPAA would have to shut down.

I mean, it's Disney. They've never made/released an R-rated movie under their actual banner and they're not going to risk pissing off the Disney Karens of the world by leaving fuck in there a couple of times. And even if the MPAA did let it slide and keep it PG-13, you can imagine the horror on Disney Karen's faces around the country when the family settles in to watch the biggest musical of the last twenty years only to hear fuck uttered. It's just not worth it. As long as Disney isn't altering anything else beyond that, it's fine.
I don't think it's a big deal. The word fuck flies past me when I watch movies or live life anyways; I don't notice when they're there and I don't notice when they aren't.
