It feels like a different movie. Because it is.

Wasn't expecting a timeline reset kind of story, but hey, it looks fun.

hmm... I don't know about this, The idea of redoing the entire timeless of T1 and T2 sounds absurd.
Those movies are classics, leave em alone.

I hope you guys realize this is the first part of a trilogy. They're "re-doing" the timeline to pave way for new stories in Parts 2 and 3.

So that's suppose to make it okay? The James Cameron movies led to Terminator 3, Salvation and The Sarah Connor Chronicles. So... maybe... these people can lead to something better. Time will tell.

That's like saying lets redo "Star Wars" and instead of Darth being bad he's the bad good guy from the beginning. So we can have a whole new trilogy.
No... Just, no.

Here is a particularly good breakdown of the trailer. They picked up on a number of things I missed when watching it.

I'm not sure how that will change anyone's mind. The most interesting aspects of the trailer that they've pointed out, we already noticed and have been discussing.

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind, just introduce some things that may have been missed. What you consider to be interesting and what others do may not be the same thing. There has been no discussion of the second time displacement machine, which I find to be a compelling plot point. There's also the various jumps in time from not only 1984, but Sarah's childhood and then the present day. Maybe you don't find this to be worth discussing, but I do. Others might as well.

I'm not trying to change anyone's mind I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to Neverending. And I never said none of it was worth discussing. I said I wasn't sure the video was going to change anyone's mind.

Mehh... Still agree. Star Trek doesn't have that legendary film stance like T2 and Star Wars.

Yeah, Star Trek has some bumps in the road, but it has a major legacy and an enriched universe which shouldn't be dismissed.

I respect you guys for the love you all have for The series and I myself love TNG and Voyager. But I never cared for the original series.
So for me the new movie series is a step up.
Again to each there own. I don't live and die by the changes in the new movies.

If it's "to each their own" then don't say things like "Star Trek doesn't have legendary film status" or to tell people to "get over it" when they complain about it.

Bull. If I'm in a Star Trek thread and were discussing why the movies or TV shows did or did not work. I will rely my opinion..
I stand by my case that the reboots worked. Sure "Into Darkness" wasn't as good as the prequel, but that's because it didn't get executed as well. I can call that out.
But I'm in firm belief that T1 and T2 are film classics, and T2 specially deserves to be in 100 greatest films ever made.

T2 deserves to be in 100 greatest films ever made. So does Star Trek: The Voyage Home. That movie is a-may-zing!
