Or... You have two lists. First Instinct and Hindsight. You can then compare the two and figure out why some movies held up and why some didn’t. And also see which of your opinions were affected by outside influences. Or, you can just be like me and not make that first list in any form. Nah

Also Neverending, this trailer was on the blu-ray. We need to badger Doomsday into making this the movie for Round 200.

Happy Happy Joy Joy: The Ren & Stimpy Story If I have one criticism (or two) it's that a) it glossed over John's background. Dude spent like 10 years working for Hanna-Barbera (among others). They could have interviewed his co-workers & bosses for more insight into the man and how it led to his experience on Ren & Stimpy. Also, John worked on the Powerpuff Girls revival that everyone hated. They didn't talk to anyone from that show either. John only alluded to it, mentioning he was forced into early retirement cause of MeToo. and b) it didn't delve into Bob Camp's run of the show, which quite frankly, is the bulk of the series. Purists say the show "jumped the shark" after John K left but the guy only really worked on the first 6 episodes. He got fired 5 episodes into season 2 cause he kept missing deadlines. Sure, his fingerprints are all over season 2 but most episodes were finished after he got canned. And ratings-wise, the show was at its peak in seasons 3 & 4 when it aired on Snick.

I think there was a bit of a rush to get to the meat of the John K. making Ren & Stimpy story and then just kind of sidestepped a lot of other things as irrelevant. Then it spends about twenty minutes saying "Oh, by the way, he's also a child groomer" at the end, which feels disjointed and tacked on. But mostly I thought it was a solid look at the turbulent behind the scenes of the show. They did a pretty good job getting all sides for interviews.

They did an excellent job covering the first two seasons of the show. If this were a DVD/Blu-Ray special feature, it would have exceeded expectations. But it's a sorta half-baked John K. documentary and left a lot out. Long before the MeToo stuff, John K. already had a reputation for being a jackass. It's not as if he left Ren & Stimpy and went on to prove Nickelodeon wrong. Guy only got worse. The Ren & Stimpy stuff and the MeToo stuff wouldn't have felt disjointed (as you say) if they covered that middle portion. The documentary is only 1 hour and 45 minutes. They could have added in an extra 15 minutes.
