I don’t know how much was retained from Joe Carnahan’s script, but if the plot is intact I get what he was going for, and perhaps it would have worked had he remained as director, but it didn’t quite work in this version. There’s fun moments, and it’s overall an entertaining film, but it’s kinda disappointing as a long awaited sequel to Bad Boys. And if the post-credits scene is any indication, and yes there’s post-credit scenes, this series heading to Die Hard 5 territory.

The big question is whether or not any scene in this movie lives up to this...

REGGIE CUT HIS DREADS MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!
It's watered down Bad Boys, but Smith and Lawrence are all in. I got some laughs, got some action, I enjoyed it.
Best movie I've seen this decade.

2 has the best action. This has the best story. One is the best overall movie.
Not a false note in this franchise. Really, really enjoyed it.

Yeah I was surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. Dont get me wrong, the first two are enjoyable as mindless popcorn fun, but this one had heart and seemingly was filmed better if that makes any sense. The action was good but nothing beats that ridiculous chase sequence in Bad Boys 2. Some nice throwbacks to the other two films as well. I really enjoyed this flick.

Astounding. You sandbagging sons of bitches. Let's you down for basically 30 minutes or so. But the payoffs work so well.
I'm still in shock but ...
9/10. Hard dug it.

Coming from somebody who really doesn't like the first one and hates the second...
This was surprisingly decent.
Would I go so far as to give it a thumbs up? Not quite...but I was shocked at how much I enjoyed myself with this overall. It's not obnoxious like the first and not as aggressively mean-spirited as the second. As a few have pointed out already, it's more watered down, but to me, that was a good thing. The comedy especially flowed more naturally for me here and the action was entertaining enough. Most of all, though, I appreciated how seriously it took Mike and Marcus this time and treated them more as characters. Some of the dramatic beats landed better than I thought they would. I bought where they were at this point in their lives. And the story was also decent. Certain parts could've been fleshed out more, but for the third movie in a franchise that I never really gave two shits about, this movie was better than it had a right to be.
Best of the three for me.
