Really not much to say with this one; it's pretty straightforward. If you liked Welcome to the Jungle, then odds are you're gonna like The Next Level. Yes, a lot of the plot structure is the same as that movie, but this time, there are enough twists and variations on said formula to keep things entertaining. Also, they do a good job of upping the stakes a little. The core chemistry between both sets of the cast remains intact and the whole body-swap angle provides a lot of good laughs. And just when it feels like the movie is about to run that trope into the ground, it changes it up again. Not as fresh as the first, but The Next Level offers up the same straightforward entertainment you want and expect from it. And who knows, judging by the reactions to Rise of Skywalker so far, maybe it's just what the doctor orders.

Good movie. Not as good as the original. But an enjoyable afternoon watch if you get the chance.

moderately amusing humor, regressive character beats that retreaded character arcs, just more of the same we got from the last movie, only real notable aspect of the movie itself was a cameo at the end from the original Jumanji. You're right. It's blander than meh. It's a pretty shit movie now that I think about it.

Don't shed a tear for him, because he'll be clopping bombs on peoples heads from miles up. Dude's living the dream.

To be honest, this was right on the line between meh and enjoyable for me, but it ended up leaning more toward the latter.

I liked it, but they were swearing so much it was throwing me off, and I don't usually pay attention to swearing in movies. I'd compare it to Titans, where they're trying to be way too cool and have them swearing every 5 words.
Other than that, they did what they could for the sequel by giving the actors more acting range, and they upped the stakes in the game itself. Looking forward to the 3rd installment going back to the OG and having the actors play the standard versions of their avatars. Should be cool.
8/10
side note: I experienced the most drama in a theater I've experienced since 3 Billboards. People were taking people's reserved seats, two millennial parents were letting their kids run up and down the theater stairs and play during the movie (I ended that myself), and the teenager next to me seemingly bathed in whatever terrible version of Axe is popular these days while he kept talking to his girlfriend and looking at his phone during the movie. No amount of looks I sent his way seemed to land.

I'm gonna go ahead and assume that by 'I ended that myself' you mean that you slaughtered the entire family, and all of the other thunderbastards who were ruining the film, for that matter.
That would be my kind of Christmas miracle.

Pretty much the exact same plot structure, another unmemorable villain, etc. But the body swap twist was fresh again and I liked how they took avantage more of the three lives concept this time.

I'm fine with whatever one you guys don't want. Or I'll take seconds, I'm not picky.
