Every so often I'll come across a movie that makes me go 'I can't believe I haven't seen that.' Some of them rank higher in popularity/notoriety than in quality but the point is that there are a number of films that I have never watched and somehow over the past 29 years I missed the boat. For example, I hadn't seen Top Gun until I was about 21 or 22 and that was maybe the most egregious title. I only watched Beverly Hills Cop and Point Break about a year ago. I'm going to update this whenever I think of them so I know what I'll have to work on, right now I'm jotting these down while they're still fresh.

I could list big movies I haven't seen but they wouldn't be a "To Do" list. I've probably skipped them for a reason. Like Rambo and Halloween.

I think the only really big one I haven't seen is/are The Godfather trilogy. I'm an embarrassment, I know.
I can't apologise enough.

I don't really have a 'to do' list. I'm generally pretty good about watching what I have an interest in. I have several TV shows I've been meaning to watch though (I'm literally just starting 'Agents of SHIELD' now).

My TV list has grown out of control and I barely have time to make a dent in it so I've had to cut it down to only the best shows.

I've honestly forgotten all about a majority of the shows I've tried to watch in the past. I'll be involved for a handful of episodes, then I'll never think about it again. It has to be really, really good to keep me watching.

I've started on a bunch of tv shows but rarely finish. Even Game of Thrones, I got about 6 in but couldn't justify investing another 50 hours or so. It's the time more than anything.

I agree with both of the two posts above me. I threw in the towel on 'Game of Thrones', and just recently decided I wasn't going to watch 'Arrow' or 'The Flash' anymore. Just can't devote the time.

I haven't seen any of the Godfathers either, so we stand in solidarity Dex! I have to give this thread some thought because there are a lot of movies I want to see but haven't. This thread was created for me it seems!

Excellent! I've also since realised that I haven't seen 2001 either, which is almost as criminal.

I'll start by listing all the remaining AFI Top 100 Movies (from both versions of the list) I've yet to see:
1998
American Graffiti Dances With Wolves The Deer Hunter Patton Platoon Tootsie
2007
Cabaret The Last Picture Show Nashville Sophie's Choice
I just watched A Clockwork Orange this afternoon and I figure if I really concentrate on this, I can wrap this list up by the end of the year.

What'd you think of Clockwork Orange? I know I really liked it, maybe loved it, but I'm still pinpointing my exact opinion. The craft and the acting is tremendous, but I'm still figuring out what I thought of it emotionally.

The big one I get nailed on right now is Collateral.
I have to ponder this some more.

I like 'Collateral' a lot, good change of pace for Cruise and Mann adds a lot.

Empire of the Sun The Day The Earth Stood Still Great movies. Especially The Day the Earth Stood Still. Jump on those. I could list big movies I haven't seen but they wouldn't be a "To Do" list. I've probably skipped them for a reason. Like Rambo and Halloween. I'd recommend Halloween. I don't know if its your type of film but it's easily the best slasher movie and it's pretty important. I think the only really big one I haven't seen is/are The Godfather trilogy. I'm an embarrassment, I know. I can't apologise enough. At least you're aware. Excellent! I've also since realised that I haven't seen 2001 either, which is almost as criminal. You should come over and we'll have a marathon.
Mostly a lot of solid stuff, some veering into weaker territory (Tootsie), but some veering into awesome territory (Platoon). I'm just waiting on Nashville and The Last Picture Show. The big one I get nailed on right now is Collateral. Awesome film.

I have some literal to do lists. AFI's top 100 from 2007 (completed the 98 version), top 100 laughs, top 100 thrills, genre top 10s, all of the best picture winners and nominees, Ebert's Great Movies List, and Empire Magazine's Top 500 from a few years ago.
