what the fuck is this shit? Why even tie this in with that show? Anyone interested in a horror movie is going to be put off by the association with the "Ze Plane" show and anyone who actually liked that goddamn show and wanted an adaptation is also not going to want this. Fantasy Island was a supernatural-themed show. It was “a twist” on the Monkey Paw premise. It suits itself for a Blumhouse adaptation. They just shouldn’t be tallwashing and French hatin’. |

This POS is from the same "creative team" who brought us the craptacular Truth or Dare (2018). Unfortunately, that movie was a financial success despite being awful. Fantasy Island is a property with loads of potential, which is why it was such a success when it originally aired from 1977-1984. Each episode told wildly different stories featuring all new characters every episode. It's a shame all that potential is being squandered for a quick cash grab from Blumhouse.
This sort of bullshit is why Sony/Columbia deserves the troubled position they're in on the world media front. They own a property with plenty of potential to be expanded into a big money franchise, and instead they hand it over to a budget horror production company to crank out a small profit.
