I was on youtube the other day and this video was recommended. I hadn't even heard of Lilly Singh and I certainly didn't know she had a late night show. I assumed it was a late night show that was on some channel but I let it play anyways.
Holy shit.
Has anyone seen this? It left me speechless.
I had to know more. How does this girl have a following? This was some of the most unfunny comedy I've ever seen. She makes Amy Schumer look like Norm MacDonald. Maybe it's just some weird rec and she isn't that big, that has to be it, right? Nope, come to find out she's one of the highest paid youtube stars. And this clip? It's from her show on NBC. This was aired. On television. People saw this. So I thought maybe I wasn't giving her a fair shake. I found another clip.
I hadn't heard of this 'OK Boomers' thing until Neverending and PG Cooper starting going off on it and lo and behold this lady has a video dedicated to whatever it's supposed to be. This is fucking unwatchable.
Is this what we're supposed to enjoy now? Is this what millennials are bringing to the table? Because I'll put up with some racism and a few sexual harassment allegations from a funny comedian if it means not being subjected to this. Dave Chappelle is problematic but Lilly Singh is the new voice of comedy? Good Christ I'll start a GoFundMe for Louis CK before I give this any more of my attention. I might be an old fart at 34 but this is bad even by NBC standards and they still air SNL.
