If you do choose a Fast movie, I'd recommend Fast Five.

Since I've only seen the first F&F I'm gonna have to go with 2 Fast 2 Furious. However One Cut of the Dead sounds pretty fun, I'll do either of those. I'm not sure what you've seen so here are a few, let me know if you need a new list. Spartacus- Peacock Re-Animator - Shudder The Condemned - Peacock The Eiger Sanction- Peacock Man on the Moon- Peacock I would recommend either Re-Animator or The Condemned if you haven't seen them already.

I honestly have no idea what to recommend to you. It seems like you have seen everything, but maybe not? I'm going to put together an initial list to gauge things, so chances are you've seen them all.

Nilade , any streaming services I should hone in on? I have peacock, hulu, Netflix, prime, HBO and anyone has access to Tubi. I'll rent for something interesting. I have Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Tubi, Hulu, and Starz. I don't mind renting as long as it's available. I'll have your list for you today!

I'll be going either Sparticus or The Eiger Sanction, since I've seen the others (Re-Animator was on the same Joe Bob marathon as Sleepaway Camp, saw Condemned in theaters, and Man on the Moon is one of Jim Carrey's best movies). I do highly recommend One Cut of the Dead and I think it's my Joe Bob-given duty to spread this movie through the forums like wildfire (and Playing with Fire), with the warning Joe Bob gave all who watched it a few months ago: the end credits roll after a half hour, but keep watching. What really makes the movie great is what happens after. The third act of that movie is so much fun.

We were actually talking about Eiger Sanction in another thread a few days ago. If you like movies where Clint Eastwood is an art professor/rock climber/international assassin whose boss is an Asian albino guy then this movie is for you.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople It's magistical. The fat kid from Deadpool 2 plays a foster child who's left in the care of an older lady in a remote farm. When she dies, he goes to live in the woods with an old hermit played by Sam Neil of Jurassic Park fame. Once child services finds out, they believe the kid has been abducted and a manhunt and media circus emerges. What follows is a charming buddy film, in the vein of Thelma & Louise or Midnight Run, but with a New Zealand sensibility. Highly recommend it.

2 Fast 2 Furious
The first thing I did when I turned this on was try to forget about the entire vast franchise that came after it. The only other film in this series that I'd seen up until now was the original Fast and the Furious which came out when I was 16. I actually saw it a few times in theaters and on DVD as it was released pre-Netflix, Youtube, streaming and anything else that would infinitely expand the number of options for audiences. 2 Fast 2 Furious was released the year I graduated from high school which was still a time where I was frequently, constantly seeing just about anything that was in theaters with my friends. I can't tell you why we skipped this sequel but I can imagine it was a combination of having something better to watch mixed with a lack of interest in seeing a Vin Diesel-less sequel to a movie that was primarily a Vin Diesel vehicle (no pun). Then the years rolled by and while the F&F franchise exploded into the juggernaut it is today it never interested me in the least. Based on the trailers I will say though that it's gone a long way from the street racing Point Break ripoff to whatever movie had the submarine chase. Anyways, onto 2 Fast 2 Furious.
The one thing that's obvious right off the bat is that this is a 90s movie that barreled into the early 2000s by the skin of its teeth. The way it's lit, the way everything feels so fake and stagey, the terrible visual effects, the way that everyone seems to be an over exaggerated caricature makes it feel right at home with those late nineties teen movies that were popular for a second but are now nicely, hopefully tucked away in the vault of forgotten cinema. We start off with a street race as we did in the original and Bryan O'Conner, the ex-cop non-star of the first movie, is back! He wins the race but is quickly arrested thanks to some electrical hook thing that shuts your car off. Okay. He's soon pressed into service by the Miami police to work a case where he is definitely not needed. He also convinces them to allow him to recruit an old buddy Roman who's equally unnecessary but hey, we need some cool drivers right? The first time we see Roman in some car wrecking derby we're introduced via several shots of the back of his bald head. It made me wonder if they were trying to make us hearken back to Vin Diesel via hairless dome even though we all know he's not in it. They're tasked with infiltrating the lair of a drug dealer who could go down in history as one of the most bland villains in film history. All this guy really does is sneak money out of the country and all the heroes need to do is transport money from his house to his plane and they'll arrest him. That's it. That's the plan. Why they needed to go find an ex-cop and his ex-felon friend is none of our concern. We're only given the task of watching these people pretend to act.
When I mentioned it looks like a 90s movie that's because there's an inherent cheapness to all of it. Nothing looks authentic, nothing looks stylish. There's a Miami club scene which should have involved dozens of hot extras and hopefully make people actually want to be at that club. Instead it looks like a dull, brightly lit set from a sitcom. The NAS effect is used frequently with the sound of a jet engine and when it hits it looks like you're about to go into light speed. Paul Walker rest his soul might be easy on the eyes for some but lacks any charisma or charm and he certainly can't carry a film, even one like this. He's very much a supporting character's actor and putting him in the lead didn't do the movie any favors. Vin Diesel isn't Olivier but he did carry a presence that made him fit into a franchise like this. Walker, with his West Coast Choppers and ankle high converse in his southern California high school wardrobe, just isn't up to the task and fails to portray even the shallow surfer/driver dude he's supposed to be.
So is this a good movie? Not at all, but it's not completely awful either. The filmmakers knew exactly what this movie was but unfortunately didn't try to make it any better. It's a dumb movie that was trying to capitalize on the previous film despite the fact that it was lacking one of its biggest draws, much like Independence Day 2 thought it would pass muster without Will Smith because it had Bill Pullman. It also didn't know what kind of franchise this would become so it just tried to imitate the first one as best (or poorly) as it could. It's basically the first movie with everything taken down about eight notches. The excitement, the enjoyment, the action, the characters, everything that you might have liked about the first one only has about a fraction of each in 2 Fast 2 Furious. Not saying the first film mastered any of those in the first place but that should tell you where 2 Fast 2 Furious lands. And it was directed by John Singleton. What?
C- so says Doomsday. If another 19 years go by before I see Fast and Furious 3 that will be alright by me.
